I loved the first four season of Californication, because each 30-minute episode had more laughs than most other "comedy" shows have in an entire season. Kathleen Turner's guest role as Susan Collini, dragon lady/super agent ("I took every crooked inch that Jackie Gleason had to offer in that stall!") alone was funnier than most TV series, as these VERY NSFW clips show:
And of course the episodes with Rick Springfield (like everything else in the show, this clip is NSFW):
But three episodes into Season 5 and I have yet to see one thing that made me laugh. Not one. The only mildly amusing part of the new season is that Hank Moody's teenage daughter has a new boyfriend who is a complete jerk -just like Hank Moody.
What happened? Does anyone else watch this show and think it's anywhere near as funny as the other seasons?
