Senators Emeritus

I've created a tag for Senators Emeritus:

I've already asked Mike to upload it to the images directory, which he will try to do tomorrow.

I've also removed two Senators from active duty and added them to the Emeritus list, those two being Sonnenburg, who resigned here, and Sea Skimmer, who I was told by CmdrWilkens wanted to resign. If either of you don't want the tag, please let me know and I'll remove you from the usergroup.

Was the Duchess even active when the Senate was formed? I know she got chosen with the first Senators, but I think that may have been after she parted company with the board.

Her last post was Dec 31. Literally. The Senate started at feasible around Jan 2-3.

So she literally never stepped foot into the place. Ever.

Going along with this we have a current headcount of 50 eligible votes (Rob Wilson as chancellor has discounted himself excepting ties so 51 total users with posting access). That headcount includes 1 inactive (Duchess) and 2 temporarily inactives (Yosemite and Zaia).

For those keeping score this means we need:

25 votes for quorum in category A with at least 15 in favor (60%) for measures to pass

20 votes for quorum in category B with at least 11 in favor (51%) for measures to pass

20 votes for quorum in category C with a plurarily in favor for a candidate to be elected.

Still, if she hasn't set foot in the place, I don't think she can be called a Senator, let alone Emeritus. How can she retire from a service she was never in?

Marina is currently refraining from posting at all on the board because someone else asked her to for personal reasons. She is currently looking at resolving things with this other person who has been busy and unavailable recently.

I'm sure she'd like to remain a Senator, but if she is removed from the role, I for one will have no qualms in re-nominating her.

Ladies and gentlemen of the Senate, I do believe that this discussion has reached a point of irrelevance.

Thank you, Mike, for the kind words--they were very important to me in deciding to come back.

For the record, for all our differences (and I'm sure we have more in some areas, and far less in others, over the course of the past year and a half--my political thinking has changed rather drastically, as I understand some of you know, but that's not all bad), I have always had the utmost respect for you. You are ten times the father than most average men in our modern society can dream of being; and from someone so worried about the future as I, that is not a compliment given lightly.

I know that, of all the problems I expect us to see in the future, none will be contributed to in the slightest bit by any child who has been raised by you and your wife, and I think that is clear enough in what could be said of my opinion of Michael Wong the individual.
