TempBan has passed in the punishment poll however the length was given as TBD therefore please use this thread as a forum to discuss LENGTH of the TempBan.

If you have comments related to anything other than LENGTH of the TempBan please start an alternate thread.

Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."

In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!

So one year has been seconded and my suggestion of ~3 months hasn't yet been.

I both originated and support one year and continue to wholeheartedly endorse it..

1 year.

To elaborate - he will most likely have entered the final year of high school by then and people tend to mellow out by then.

I'll second (third? fourth?) a year, and suggest that we even consider eighteen months. By then, he ought to be at least halfway through senior year of high school, and getting ready to head to college.
A Government founded upon justice, and recognizing the equal rights of all men; claiming higher authority for existence, or sanction for its laws, that nature, reason, and the regularly ascertained will of the people; steadily refusing to put its sword and purse in the service of any religious creed or family is a standing offense to most of the Governments of the world, and to some narrow and bigoted people among ourselves.

2 Years. End of story.

Why? He will likely be out of high school, and either gotten over his need to troll the board or has gotten over the board. His actions were easily enough to make most consider permanent banning and be done with it.

He was not worth this length of discussion over the noise to signal ratio he has engendered since the start of his posting.

I'll support the one-year exclusion. I'd also suggest that when he does re-enter, he be given a different user name to allow a fresh start.

It has come to my attention that Colfax has been trying to get others to give them their login details. One such example can be found here.

Given that he clearly has no intention of shaping up despite stating so - and in fact has tried to subvert the ban already by illegal means - I think we should start a new permban vote immediately.

More info here.

I would have supported a temp-ban before, but now that he has tried to get others to help him subvert the temp-ban.....I think any lesson would just be lost on him.

Let's ban the little child and be done with it.

Thanas brought this up to me, and he's gone. No temp ban. He doesn't want to deal with the consequences of his responses and actions, he can get kicked out the door.
