Standards wont travel faster then there own destroyer and cruiser screen can, and Japanese destroyers are better sea boats on average. That’s why so many of them only have one turret forward and a nice high bow. The Japanese themselfs had orders to leave the destroyers behind if during the run in they could not be refueled because of bad weather.
