I love the smell of BDZ in the morning.

Old News. Unfortunately, it requires a camera behind the person, and a projector in front of him, to work. It's impossible to use it as camoflauge. I see it being used in the operating room, such as projecting an x-ray onto the patient's body or something.

It would be useless as camoflage (see the picture, has a nice green tint to it), but the medical use sounds outright funky. would make for much smoother operations as well

UCLA is conducting research for the US Army.

You can also read about what the Quartermaster Corps has to say about adaptive camouflage uniforms.

Frankly, that photo looks like a cross between a power ranger and a painball outfit, but I just work here...

LOL! The helmet almost looks as if it was added in Photoshop. There's something weird about its appearance.

Just wrap a towel around your head. There, instant camo.

I'm definetly seeing that too, Mike. It definetly looks out of place or too large, and askew.

A lot of the Objective Force Warrior stuff is photoshopped, and that guy is near certainly in front of a blue screen.

Yeah, you must have lifted that idea from the article. They listed it too.

Wit some fine tuning it could work, like if they took a plasma screen, made it a hell of alot thiner and felxable and then fitted TINY cameras into so the projection was from in the suit rather than outside.....or something along those lines.

Not to mention becoming a huge beacon for any form of thermal system. There's also the matter of weight and the weight of the power supply.

If its far enough into the future to be able to make something like that, who knows, maybe they'd find a way to overcome the heat aspect.
Thats a big maybe though.

I think the person would only only be "perfectly invisible" when viewed from one particular angle. The further you'd get away from that angle, the more distorted the camo would be.

Here's some ways around problems currently around adaptive camouflage.
