well, he doesnt have to be a prick about it though. i'm used to typing like i do on AIM. you wanna carry on a fast conversation, you dont think about capitalizing YOUR LETTERS LIKE THIS. but is it that big of a deal? isnt getting my point and seeing yours more of the concern. yeah, i dont always type the best, but i get my point out there and make sure peeps understand. i mean, if anyones got a problem with that, it's kinda sad. i'm not saying anyone is dumb for acting that way, but i'm here to friggin tell what i feel about SW, not argue about my grammer and typing skills

Dark lord Revan2007 the reason why Stark, Spanky and havokeff are giving you a hard time is that:

1) You're not on topic, on SDN we prefer that posts within our threads pertain to the thread topic.

2) You're not using proper capitals. Look at the announcements at the top of the bbs homepage and read them, they spell out that we are supposed to use proper English on the forum.

3) The board charter states that we can mock anyone not following the rules, which your not doing.

Please don't attack me for this, I'm just trying to help you out.

Posting Rule 1: This forum is an English-language forum. This means that you will use recognizable English. It also means that you will not use hacker dialect (aka "l33t-speak") or annoying IM habits such as "ur" in place of "you are". You will also use capitalization properly, not to mention punctuation, sentence breaks, paragraphs, etc. If you don't like to type decent English, either learn or leave. Greater allowances for deviation from proper English may be made for those for whom English is a second language, within reason. You must at least give the impression that you are sincerely trying to construct proper English sentences.

The point is if one has to go through hoops to even garner a point, then you have failed in making any point. The key is to be precise and understandable, not sacrifice one for the other.

Capital letters aren't just decoration. They make text easier to read by visually breaking up blocks of it, denoting proper nouns, and signaling the beginning of sentences. Proper punctuation and correct use of paragraph breaks serve the same purpose. Spelling is less critical, though since both IE 7.0 and Mozilla 2.0 both have spell checkers now, you're running out of excuses for making egregious errors. And the plain fact of the matter is, if you don't make an effort to express yourself properly, you won't be taken seriously no matter how good your ideas are, because atrocious typing, besides being hard to read, often denotes laziness (as you outright admitted to here), lack of intelligence, or both (barring a medical condition). If you're not going to put the effort into making what you say intelligible, why should I or anyone else expend any effort to decipher it?
