The final order before the final dungeon is also a speed run.

Final dungeon is magic-dead, and full of psionic creatures who's powers are unaffected.

The goal is to defend the gates. So work them to death and then annoy them to the point they rage-quit :)
Why have clues when the idea is to stop people completing the whole challenge?

That's not entirely clear, it may actually just stop people using disintegrate to burrow through any barrior until they find the thing.

It was clear the Order of the Scribble believed others would eventually find the Snarl-Gates. Hence, the heavy fortification and defensive efforts.

If you can't prevent someone from finding out about something, you simply make getting it so difficult, they stop trying after a while.
I've been asked why I still follow a few of the people I know on Facebook with 'interesting political habits and view points'.

As she states bluntly in the new comic, the idea was to either make them rage-quit, or delay them until she could call on help from her friends. She just didn't expect to the be the last one alive at this point.

The tracking number and position was amusing btw.

Now, the trick at this point would be to make the final dungeon full of traps, misdirections and the like. Secret doors behind secret doors behind secret doors, traps protecting traps protecting traps, that disabling sets off another trap, zero-gravity anti-magic areas, etc.

And all the monsters within, are immune to that stuff.
Zero Gravity area and your fly spell was cancelled you are just floating there?
Please meet the rather powerful Air Elemental Purple Worm that lives in it.

You disabled the rotating saw trap? Unfortunately that was also part of the mechanism that kept another trap in check. Now the corridor you are in is blocked off, and is filling with deadly-neuro-toxin. (Please read that last line in Glados's voice from Portal).

... Rogues in games I'm running (or I'm running them in) typically make 3 - 4 search checks on traps before disabling them now.

The overall plot is still proceeding too slowly for my liking. (but as always it'll be fine in the trade) but the character work for Belkar and the paladins is great and on point.

I like that Lien's boyfriend is an ex-con.

It took me a moment to get the joke about the hands, because I was counting the Mimic's fingers, before remembering how many the other characters have.

I'll note the MitS was willing to wait for gratification.

Yep.
And I am hoping that we finally get to see MitS come out of the shadow, since this is leading up to Endgame (and Belkar's death).

I love the mimic becomes a head-rest, although I don't think "Cure Light" is going to do much to help that dragon :(

It will at least stabilize it if it's at negative HP. (Semi-conscious and talking is possible if it made a couple of Constitution checks in a row but doesn't get it out of danger.)
