Yeah.. needed a transplant of troll parts just to survive :(
I think she deserves a chance to shout at her younger self for putting her on this path. :(

I think pretty much anyone given a chance to talk to their younger self would probably end up quite furious with them, and probably visa versa as well.

What I would do is in direct proportion to it's disruptive effects on the timeline.

Hologram copy of me? I'm probably breaking bones.

The last place anyone would expect a gate is right next to another gate? Not sure if I buy that. Or does it mean that the first gate they destroyed was actually Serini's gate and the real first one is still out there somewhere?

I think it just means Serini's final dungeon and Dorukan's dungeon look the same.

Maybe there was a sale at Dungeons'R'us?
A minute's thought suggests that the very idea of this is stupid. A more detailed examination raises the possibility that it might be an answer to the question "how could the Germans win the war after the US gets involved?" - Captain Seafort, in a thread proposing a 1942 'D-Day' in Quiberon Bay

They used the same contractor for the first and last gate?

That was a total WTF, and to me a waste of a comic, but we shall see.

The joke being it's a reversion to kind of strip they had in their first arc, now they are back in a dungeon that looks exactly like it.

O-Chul even paraphrases the first book name.

Whether this will have plot implications or not remains to be seen.

Theory - The final dungeon was created by all the members Order of the Scribble.

Right now, the OOTS is being subjected to epic level illusions and enchantments, effectively lowering their development level, to make them easier for the final dungeon traps and monsters to deal with.

In other words - Spells make high level characters as effective as low level characters, now watch the 20th level monsters attack!

Extremely clever. I have to wonder how it will work against the Modrons.

Monsters with complimentary abilities usually can take care of parties.

i.e
Rust Monsters + Disenchanters + Carrion Crawlers working together will take apart most mid to low level parties.
Toss in a swarm(s) of insects that attack an ability score (or scores) and even high level characters could be taken out.

AND WHAT THE HELL IS THE THING THAT FREAKS OUT A BEHOLDER?

Given the wording of their deal and Team Evil's desire to not have a being one or two steps down from the actual gods learn about their plan I think it's very likely they will have parted ways with the modron by that point.

As said, going by the wording, the Modron would not go into the final dungeon, as it was via magical transport, and not behind one of the doors. I can see a debate on it, and then the lich deliberately doing something to end the agreement then telling Redcloak 'I'm bored, let's get to this already!'.

Or just breeching the contract because he can the moment the modron isn't needed anymore.

But again, even Redcloak has good reason to not want the modron around indefinitely.

Anyone think that Implosion Redcloak cast on Durkon will lead to him not having a 9th level spell slot to contribute at a key moment?

1290 is up

Wherein we learn a little bit more about Serini's plan and how her gate was defended.

She's still got a real chip on her shoulder about Soon and the paladin's, still like them better tbh.

Willful ignorance to be surprised and offended by a paladin abiding by an oath she suggested.

Especially since breaking that oath would have compromised the defenses he set up.
