Another Winds of Winter preview chapter

Post by Vympel »

Sansa

Thoughts:

1. Lord Robert Arryn is suprisingly observant for a child re: Harry the Heir;
2. Harry the Heir is a douchebag - but perhaps justifiably given who he thinks Sansa is (i.e. Littlefinger's stooge, not merely a bastard); and
3. Falcon knights sound cool. Someone give them wings! (Winged Hussars FTW)

Sansa is sounding plenty Cersei-ish these days. Wonder if this was how she would have come across in the earliest days of her attempts to play the game.

I wonder if he'll finish it before the show ends.

You mean WoW, or the entire ASOIAF series?

I highly doubt it if it's the latter, but its still probable for the former.
Turns out that a five way cross over between It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, the Ali G Show, Fargo, Idiocracy and Veep is a lot less funny when you're actually living in it.

I wouldn't be shocked if he just doesn't finish it.

Isn't the show going completely off the book rails this season?

It's diverging heavily, out of necessity. They've essentially caught up with the books, and by the end of this season they'll probably either be equidistant or ahead.

As for Martin, he'll finish the books as long as he's alive and capable of writing. He's put some other stuff aside to try and get Winds of Winter done by the end of this year, which means we'd get sometime in late Spring/early Summer 2016 if he finishes it by then. Barring some sort of miraculous finishing of it early this year (like at the end of Summer), the show is going to definitively pass the books next year.
