I would like to link you to a game. It is a home-made text based adventure game. It runs off of a single .jar file. The plot makes no sense, the controls are inconsistent and at times frustrating. It violates the Checkov's Gun rule of text based adventure games by having many things that serve no purpose, they're just very pretty to look at.

It is also, one of the finest games I have ever played, if not the finest. The conclusion at the end that brings the entire plot together is beautiful. I can, without irony, call it a work of art.

Spoiler your comments, please -- at least for the first few posts so someone reading the thread won't accidentally spoiler themselves.
Spoiler
I cried at the end. The little details -- like the word explanations being Alley talking. The colors. The tie-in with the car crash and the points of view changing. Her dying was heart-wrenching.
