I worked for Amazon in their outbound shipping department for a few months a couple of years ago. At least in Canada, we exclusively used existing couriers and didn't have our own delivery service, though I'm sure the Canadian division would love to do that in major cities to cut out the expenses those contracts add to each delivery. We shipped with basically everybody too, from Canada Post, to Purolator, to DHL.
