This pertains to the final arbiter of canon on each side, i.e. where the proverbial "buck stops." Canonicity of EU sources, would seem to give this power to everyone who writes a LFL novel or even comic book, giving canonicity to their figures regardless of inconsistency with on-screen material. Naturally, a pro-Wars debater would pick the most powerful source available, thereby leading to source-shopping among inconsistent EU materials.
So is this the case?
