Re: Scifi SR-71
I'm not particularly concerned with realism...I wanted a SR-71 style spaceship. With guns......and guns.

Re: Scifi SR-71
Uh, its a spaceship my friends. I probably should have clarified that in the first place. The ribs on the front are the RCS thrusters. The railgun is not actually that large a caliber, around 180mm. The perspective skews the actual dimensions of the gun. Mixing geometric and "organic" deta...

Scifi SR-71
So this is the Starblade, a scifi style SR-71. It is not only used for strategic recon but also as a deep operations warfare ship, like deploying special forces squads and hitting important targets. Its about 100m long. https://i.imgur.com/gVsFLpl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/GjoxuRM.jpg It has a large r...

Re: The ultimate Sketchup ISD
I have my greebles, weapons, and engines on seperate layers which I can turn on or off. That seems to be helping with resources.

Re: The ultimate Sketchup ISD
As long as I keep my poly count reasonable it is actually not too bad. I need to upgrade my ram though. I am still working on it. The greebling is making my brain hurt.

The ultimate Sketchup ISD
I have been inspired by looking at Fractal's work to make the most detailed and moderately accurate Star Destroyer in Google Sketchup. Re: Some new stuff
Seeing as Galvatron could sit in his cockpit I would say it’s pretty accurate.

Some new stuff
It's been a long time since I posted anything. I am still at it and after watching the OG Transformers movie last week I started working on a Cyclonus model. Tell me what you guys think. http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g61/escaflowne373/cyclonus.jpg http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g61/escaflowne...

Re: Should I try out Star Trek Online?
Honestly, if you are focusing on a Control/Gravity Well build I would consider starting to work on the new Temporal Set. The rep traits and the set all work with control powers. Im using it on my temporal tac officer and it absolutely wrecks.

Re: Should I try out Star Trek Online?
I use torpedo spread on my Fed toons most of the time. I bought the Regent Assault Cruiser Refit a while back and It comes with a Wide-angle Quantum Torpedo Launcher. I find that its increased arc opens up a lot more options.

Re: Should I try out Star Trek Online?
Depending on what kind of cruiser you end up using I would suggest investing/crafting a couple of RCS consoles. As for tactical consoles definitely invest in the consoles that increase your weapon-type damage. If you are going for a beam boat look for a cruiser that has a Lt. Commander Tactical stat...

Re: Should I try out Star Trek Online?
You actually change available skills in the stations tab. You need to make sure you have the correct rank for that station and make sure they officer is promoted. Fleets are fairly simple to work with. Under the minimap is a fleet tab and you simply select the tab for upgrades and contribute materia...

Re: Should I try out Star Trek Online?
If you like plasma/disruptor hybrid weapons I would work on the Romulan Reputation system. Every time you start a rep project you get a prize box that has a good chance of getting you the hybrid weapons. If you are looking for phasers there are some good hybrids that you can get a hold of. The new c...

I have no idea how to texture or shade. They only reason they are even rendered is because there is a plugin for sketchup that lets your export models to Kerkythea.

Re: Back at it....
It is called Battlestar Nemesis. The Valkyries were pretty old designs and I wanted a new midsize ship. It is ~1000m long, so only about 3-4 the size of Galactica. Simultaneous launch of 24 vipers per hangar pod so 48 total, around 150 vipers. I figured that Pegasus used it's main gun ports on the f...
