Ummm.... not to be negative but how does Tasmania play a key role in trade to South East Asia when it's on the complete opposite side of Australia. Trade in penguins?
I think someone has mixed Tasmania with Timor.

One of the aspects of the Ukrainian offensive that confuses many is that "basic tactical wisdom" suggests that when you make a breakthrough that that is where you concentrate your forces but "advanced strategic wisdom" is that if you're about to make a breakthrough somewhere you ...

Space Is Hard. And, as it happens, the surface of the Moon is even harder. Launching and landing items onto other celestial surfaces is difficult and there are plenty of examples of failures even among the most accomplished nations/teams. I expect this to be a temporary setback for the Russian spac...

From what I've seen/heard Trump is somewhat inclined to state most people prosecuted are deserving of punishment. I do wonder if this a psychological thing of being a "winner" versus a "loser". Examples to mind are all his fixers that were getting rolled the other year. "I'm...

It'll be a pretty chilly day in hell for Russia to cede claims to Crimea. To do so would be a direct admission that everything since 2014 (not to dismiss anything prior) was just illegal dick swinging by Russia.

To be fair (as much as the inherent issues have all?mostly been pointed out) novel designs such as using carbon fibre for pressure hulls could show promise... the major issue here is how much testing has the design had AFTER cycling through more than one descent. For many pressure related engineerin...

My understanding of dolphin and other marine animal use in modern military (pretty sure it's only Russia and USA with such programs) are as carriers of camera equipment and the animal is substituting for having to creatw a drone with sensors and then programming it to find 'odd' things like mines.

I wouldn't have been surprised if a couple of FSB officers hadn't been handed a makarov and a shovel fairly early on other than the option that seems currently in favour is to find a multi-story building with balconies with low railings.

Depending on how the pressure vessel ruptured/collapsed body retrieval might be retrieving the biggest part of the hull and then use a paint scraper to peel the red pasty smear off of it.
Mercifully it was almost assuredly quick.
