Three Issues 1. Big Helmet 2. Brainwaves are faint, you need amplifiers which are still non-mobile at this point 3. Reading brainwaves is both processor and energy intensive. Don't expect infantry, tanks and IFV's possibly, ships and airplanes most likely. However calling it telepathy is misleading...

GOOD FOLKS Our hosts of Youtube have a new trick up their sleeves. When we go to view certain videos, a screen comes up that says "SORRY VIDEO IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE". This is a misleading tactic. Just click off of video and go back and try and view it later and video(s) will then be avai...

Thanks a ton for all the replies. The Incabulum was exactly the sort of thing I was looking for - I never would have found it otherwise.

Good WH40K Fanfiction

Hi all! Though it's been years since I tried my hand at painting a model, I've found myself increasingly re-attracted to the 40k universe. Sometimes its a little bonkers (Slannesh...ergh), but all in all it has some great storytelling potential. The internet is huge, so I don't have a hope of findin...

Cool, our newest condescending board shit head. I think Broom's right; there are a whole host of atmospheric phenomenon which cause pretty rainbow colored skies. People just got the idea that it's somehow connected to the earthquake. Come, come, Superman. I'll let "condescending shit head"...

It's just rainbow effects. You know, sunlight through water vapor. I can't locate my cloud and weather identification handbook at the moment to look up the proper name for the phenomena, but it has fuck-all to do with earthquakes. I see it every so often around here (although not prior to our recen...

Is it such a huge effort to figure out when breaking links is appropriate instead of being a condescending prick?
I've read up on board policy and I think I understand the gist of link-etiquette. Thanks for your help in clearing this up.

Some locals caught these images on film. A few links for your viewing pleasure, sadly hosted on Youtube because it is the most convienient viewing medium. There's a very Star Trek-ian type feel to the newer areas of the series. The main characters can't have questionable morals, they must be the shining beacons of morality for the rest of the universe (on average. Let's face it, a Trek character would never have killed Kolya when and how Shepard did)...

As for my pick, I'll throw up "Entity". The first half I actually rather like, but then it all goes downhill. For one thing, we've already done the whole "Carter is possessed" thing... if you want to do something like that, why not continue and flesh out the Jolinar storyline a ...

The first season episode "Emancipation" is generally regard as pretty bad for its crappy and heavy handed approach to feminism.
But Carter in a knifefight with Ghengis Khan? Priceless!

Wish she'd kept that stupid outfit, though.

The Worst of Stargate (spoilers?)

I've been dejected ever since O'Neill left the cast, and have only half-heartedly kept up with events since Season 8. Dissapointed by SG 1's lame 'final' episode (oh god! MORE time travel?!), I eagerly awaited the release of the Ark of Truth. If I had bothered to check the AoT thread, I might have s...

Harassment of Atheists in the US Army

From CNN.com JUNCTION CITY, Kansas (AP) -- Like hundreds of young men joining the Army in recent years, Jeremy Hall professes a desire to serve his country while it fights terrorism. But the short and soft-spoken specialist is at the center of a legal controversy. He has filed a lawsuit alleging tha...
