Three Issues 1. Big Helmet 2. Brainwaves are faint, you need amplifiers which are still non-mobile at this point 3. Reading brainwaves is both processor and energy intensive. Don't expect infantry, tanks and IFV's possibly, ships and airplanes most likely. However calling it telepathy is misleading...

I have a few relatives in the USA's Homeland Security at the administration level (honest! even though everybody on the internet hass a green beret and a senator in their family), and even they admit shit like this is all...

Good WH40K Fanfiction
Hi all! Though it's been years since I tried my hand at painting a model, I've found myself increasingly re-attracted to the 40k universe. Sometimes its a little bonkers (Slannesh...ergh), but all in all it has some great storytelling potential. The internet is huge, so I don't have a hope of findin...

It's just rainbow effects. You know, sunlight through water vapor. I can't locate my cloud and weather identification handbook at the moment to look up the proper name for the phenomena, but it has fuck-all to do with earthquakes. I see it every so often around here (although not prior to our recen...

30 minutes before the Earthquake in China...
Some locals caught these images on film. A few links for your viewing pleasure, sadly hosted on Youtube because it is the most convienient viewing medium. I'm curious as to what kind of phenomenon this could be. Possibly charged particles, as the description suggests? http:/ /www.youtube.com/watch?v...

There's a very Star Trek-ian type feel to the newer areas of the series. The main characters can't have questionable morals, they must be the shining beacons of morality for the rest of the universe (on average. Let's face it, a Trek character would never have killed Kolya when and how Shepard did)...

The Worst of Stargate (spoilers?)
I've been dejected ever since O'Neill left the cast, and have only half-heartedly kept up with events since Season 8. Dissapointed by SG 1's lame 'final' episode (oh god! MORE time travel?!), I eagerly awaited the release of the Ark of Truth. If I had bothered to check the AoT thread, I might have s...

Harassment of Atheists in the US Army
From CNN.com JUNCTION CITY, Kansas (AP) -- Like hundreds of young men joining the Army in recent years, Jeremy Hall professes a desire to serve his country while it fights terrorism. But the short and soft-spoken specialist is at the center of a legal controversy. He has filed a lawsuit alleging tha...
