Re: The 13th Tribe Book II: A Symphony of War

That edit is what I meant since the Brute's shields stood more than the Elites expected. I thought Loyalist for the ones loyal to the Prophets.

Re: The 13th Tribe Book II: A Symphony of War

I wonder if the Terrans, Tau'ri, and Colonials will make their own Mjolnir armor for standard Spec Ops. Like an improved Gen2 or ODST armor.

Re: The 13th Tribe Book II: A Symphony of War

Makes sense. Maybe the Ancient Humans used all the resources in their territory and the Forerunners in their constructs. Maybe there are human stockpiles somewhere. I suppose in this timeline they have yet to find Ancient Human Ship and ruins? Like https://www.halopedia.org/Site_Yankee-002-G3 or the...

Re: The 13th Tribe Book II: A Symphony of War

Oh, there is something I've been wondering and I'm not sure if I missed it. SG/BSG tech requires Tylium, Trinium, Naquada, and Neutronium. Are these available in the Halo universe for the upgrades? I think railguns/coilguns of the SGC are only possible due to tritium, for example. Naquadah and Neutr...

Re: The 13th Tribe Book II: A Symphony of War

It's nice that the Warstars are not invincible. They are already ridiculously powerful and have tanked a lot. If the UNSC play a role in the final book, it would be interesting to see how their fleets improve with this tech in conjunction with their canon upgrades. I think they have the most advance...

Re: The 13th Tribe Book II: A Symphony of War

Funny enough, I found this information on YouTube about the Mercury-class little before reading this chapter. It's interesting to read. If you read the BSG comics and novels they present some interesting pieces of information about the Mercury-class. For example, we find out that even though it's al...

Re: The 13th Tribe Book II: A Symphony of War

As a nice collaboration between Earth and the Colonials, they could use the Atlas-Carrier design. It's a dedicated carrier, but Ion cannons and Plasma beams provide good offensive power. Though maybe a new fighter design for the Tau'ri will be needed since the F-302 us gigantic compared to the Viper...

Re: The 13th Tribe Book II: A Symphony of War

You know, after the luck the Colonials had (discounting the balance of the Terran Tech), one would think Jellicoe would be one of those Admirals that would always assume the worst outcome. Like assuming they didn't kill the flagship, or that the Elites would not crumble without it.

Re: The 13th Tribe Book II: A Symphony of War

That's fair though then again the main issue with the Valiants, Punics and other heavy ships is that they would also be the first to be targeted by the Covenant and they would lose both the crew that could man them properly as well as all the material. Its easier to replace destroyers and frigates t...

Re: The 13th Tribe Book II: A Symphony of War

Sure, obviously is just choice, just pointing option. I think there that Super MAC is quite a broad term. I would guess that since the Punic is much larger and top of the line compared to other ships, its MAC is called Super since its bigger and more powerful, but not on the same range of the spectr...

Re: The 13th Tribe Book II: A Symphony of War

Did the upgrade the UNSC Trafalgar on Reach? It's a Punic-Class supercarrier and pretty much the precursor of the Infinity. It even had Super MACs. Upgraded it would be a beast.

Re: The 13th Tribe Book II: A Symphony of War

You know how the Colonials built the Jupiter-class as an example of unity? While each Human civilization has their own versions it would be interesting to see what the UNSC, the Tau'ri and the Kobollians could do with a single design. Sure, each is implementing each other's tech into their own, but ...

Re: The 13th Tribe Book II: A Symphony of War

Despite all that firepower, I don't think its feasible that it will get unscathed from that battle, even with Nemesis and other ships at its side. The Covenant is far stronger than other factions they have faced and they won't have much in terms of surprise advantage this time.

That's cool. I discovered this story while browsing tvtropes haha. I'm surprised you haven't posted it in FF.net or AO3. Re: The 13th Tribe Book II: A Symphony of War

Fighter combat is not that important on the Haloverse due to the level of weapons and defenses. Shields and lasers make them much easier to shoot down, so things like Longswords are used as missile launchers if I recall correctly. The Kobollians might have the tech but they only have 1 planet, alrea...

Wasn't the entire thing about the Forerunners that they built everything out of hard light somehow?
