Frankly Mike, I'm tired of listening to you act like a giant flaming douchebag throughout every single conversation in which you participate. I'm tired of your endless "THE RAIN IN SPAIN DOES NOT IN FACT FALL MOSTLY ON THE PLANE YOU LIAR!" antics where you cleverly "expose" the b...

I guess you're too dense to realize that banning something does not necessarily mean it would be a felony offense, or that it would be punishable with prison time instead of fines. We ban parking in a fire lane too, so are you about to launch into a diatribe about how evil jackbooted thugs will kno...

I think the police should kick in your door if they have evidence that you're in there eating unhealthy, and drag you off to jail. Because someday your fat ass will probably have a stroke, public health system, tax dollars, blah blah blah, therefore I own you. Oh wait, this isn't the smoking thread....

Yeah, just read the Thrawn trilogy and give the rest a pass. There are highlights among the crap that makes up the rest of the EU, but it's still mostly crap.

That's fine. If the healthcare industry wants to charge me a premium for my little 0.1 packs-per-day habit, then I'll either pay it or (more likely) give up the habit. I just don't give much credence to the Clean Living Jihad calling for my arrest in the name of their tax dollars.

You can put up with my smoking because I'm not doing it anywhere you're going to have to smell it. This "someday you might have a medical procedure related to smoking and some of my tax money might go to pay for it, therefore I own you and you have to live healthy" argument sucks so much s...

Yeah. Outdoors is the best possible place to smoke without bothering anyone, provided you're not an asshole and make some effort not to do it near people. I haven't smoked indoors in ages. It leaves this funky lingering "aftersmell" which is rather unpleasant compared to the smell of smoke...

It's annoying though, because honestly the best place to smoke without it coming near anyone is outside. If I'm in a public park or whatever, but I'm leaned against a tree a couple dozen feet away from bystanders, then nobody is smelling it. Or if I'm at a buddy's house and I step out onto the front...

Well, if such is the case in some buildings then I can see the point. The thrust of my opinion is that I don't smoke much, I don't love it enough to go through the trouble of circumventing a ban, I'm quite happy to go out of my way to keep my smoke away from other people, and I don't feel my dirty l...

You know, I like my one or two cigs per day. I don't feel the need to smoke in public, I don't really go to bars anymore, and I can just forego smoking all day if my job doesn't give me a place to do it. I can't remember the last time I lit up where anyone short of Wolverine could have smelled it. I...

The Box Office Roundup is now a blog!

I've done nothing with the formatting as of yet, and it's under my goofy-ass WoW name just because I've posted roundups under a couple different names on different forums and I couldn't settle on one, but here it is: http://grimsteak.blogspot.com/ The first entry is up covering this weekend's busine...

In my opinion, Voltron must rely on its flight capability and agility to close the distance and attack with the Flaming Sword, while Big O is throwing an unholy amount of laser energy, missiles, and artillery shells in its direction. (I'm not sure if Voltron's own long-range weapons are powerful en...

Well I only played BG1, so I don't know about any drow matron. But if you walked up to me and said "They made one of the Baldur's Gate characters a lesbian, guess which one!" Imoen wouldn't even be among my first three guesses. I mean if you're going with an evil protagonist and really wan...

Yeah, pretty much the way I had it figured. I loved Voltron as a kid and love Big O now, so I really want to find a way to make it a draw, but no. Roger had lots of trouble both times he fought a flying mecha in Big Duo, and Voltron outperforms Big Duo in nearly every conceivable way.

Big O versus Voltron

The battle takes place on the streets of Paradigm City, with Voltron already fully assembled. (Yes I mean Lion Voltron, the only real Voltron.) The combatants start out facing off against each other gunslinger-style from a distance of about two miles. The Voltron team is taken from the end of it's s...

I don't know who Phaere is, but the name sounds feminine. So they made Imoen a lesbian? That seems sort of out-of-the-blue and gratuitous.

Yeah, I assume that if everyone says the books sucks then it must suck. Thread makes me want to go back and play some more BG1 though. Mowing down good party members like I was the Terminator and they were all the "wrong" Sarah Connors in the first part of the movie was some fun shit.

The one and only time I played all the way through to the end of BG1 was with an evil party. I managed to kill Drizzt, as well as nearly every single potential party member on the good side. Poor little Imoen, dragged around by her demonspawn "brother" only to be unceremoniously murdered i...
