Re: CNN threatens to dox creator of Trump wrestling video
Fun question: They traced him to his facebook account. Is it actually a threat of doxxing when they say if he does more they'll just reveal what the now-theoretically-retired troll put online himself? Presumably it's something you'd have to put an effort into in order to find out. Unless he did som...

Get a trial from Funimation. They have Death Parade on there.

Re: Where can I find better anime?
I've been on an anime kick again and I'm gonna say go watch Death Parade. It's a non typical animu about what happens after you die. First three episodes were a bit rough but then it gets interesting.

I'm okay with GMOs, but shit like pumping chicken full of growth hormones is nasty. The meat takes on this gross super soft texture where you can poke a finger through the breast. Wow. I've never heard someone complain about meat being "too tender" before. :P  There's tender, ...

Go the ssd plus external route. I've found that the load time difference is amazing and makes up for any particular shortcomings.

Re: An excerpt from the Comey hearing
I don't find it "wickedly funny parody", I find it a sad state of affairs that people can make jokes about the stuff thrown at rape and sexual harassment victims. It's not making fun of rape though, or necessarily meant to be funny. It's illustrating the absurd bullshit that rape victims ...

Horror works really well when the antagonists are other humans and not just faceless monsters. Go watch the original Oldboy for a solid example.

An excerpt from the Comey hearing
It's worth reading all the way through. SEN. MARCO RUBIO: I will keep my questioning brief as we are pressed for time. Mr. Comey, I would just like to know why you continued to answer the President’s calls? DIR. JAMES COMEY: Well, as I stated in open session I tried to avoid the president’s calls, ...

It was big enough to win an Oscar. That's not something the average cult film does. The Romulan Republic wrote:Mad Max: Fury Road, I think (or is that too big to be considered "cult"- it wasn't a mega-hit, but certainly not a flop either).

John Wick. It was a complete curveball that proved more entertaining than it should have been.

Re: 28% of Americans Cannot Afford $10 Emergency
It's amazing what people will throw out. I was just talking to the trash guy (want some free life advice? Befriend the little people. You might be one of us someday) about this yesterday. There was a 4' oscillating fan in good working order and a slightly ripped-up box spring just sitting there. I ...

Partly from experience. With shoes the difference in construction quality is readily apparent. Poor quality shoes use lots of glue rather than stitching for one.Zixinus wrote:And how can someone tell what will last and what won't? Re: 28% of Americans Cannot Afford $10 Emergency
I'm not saying all cheap stuff is bad. But there's some things where the difference between cheap and expensive is Night and day. Steel toe shoes for example. I don't abuse buying the heap $20 shit from Walmart.

Re: 28% of Americans Cannot Afford $10 Emergency
It's really true though. I've had cheap shoes end up falling apart on me more than if I'd been able to spend more than $150 on them. Anyone who says they don't see the difference has never spent money on high quality shoes. Sometimes you can get cheap shit to do the job that works as well as the mor...

Re: 28% of Americans Cannot Afford $10 Emergency
The current American system is designed to fuck over the poor. In the long run they wind up spending a lot more money on cheap junk that you have to constantly replace instead of a handful of really nice items that they'll never be able to save up the cash for when it's something you need right away.

Crime maps aren't a very good representation of how dangerous any given neighborhood really is, I've found. 95% of the time you'll be okay as long as you're situationally aware of what's going on.

Superior to opiates for non surgical needs. 7) flaxseed - useful for oil, linen, var...

Re: Thought Exercise: Alien Planet Colinization
Cotton is rotten isn't just a pithy saying. It holds onto moisture and if you're in a survival setting it's literally the worst fabric you could be wearing.
