Re: Show-off thread (56k unfriendly)

Been a while since I have posted anything, but I've been wanting to show off some work. And here there is a thread just waiting for me... Three that I really like from recent outings. http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q138/Vortep/IMG_6988.jpg http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q138/Vortep/IMG_7010....

Re: Can anyone recommend a good online photo editing tool?

Although I haven't gone too deep into it, http://aviary.com/. In browser, so no downloads that I know of. I only played around with it for a little bit but I really liked the layers program. It's like photoshop cut into four different parts, if I remember correctly.

Re: How does one sell a computer safely?

Does anyone have a preferred place they sell electronics, aside from eBay? I'm tempted to set the reserve there at $250 and see what happens :D Sell local, no shipping cost other than maybe meeting someone in a public place for the exchange. http://www.craigslist.org It's pretty good around these p...

Ok, it's been a while, but that's becasue it's hard to find a good connection on the road. It's been about two weeks now and my girlfriend and I are well in to our road trip. I have been snaping pictures like a madman and it's been alot of fun. Here are some that I have picked to post, all in very d...

Re: Bristol Balloon Fiesta.

Heh, so you have one too? Every October, the Albuquerque sky is congested with tons of balloons in our balloonfiesta. I wonder if the 'fiesta' in your title came out of ours. I mean, for New Mexico, spanglish is all over the place, but I didn't know it was such a pervasive things, mixing english and...

Re: A question about buying a new laptop

Ok, so after looking around and seeing what there was, I think that I'm gunna give up the idea of a optical drive and going for a netbook and external hard drive idea. This Lenovo caught my eye. It's about the same price as the one I have in the OP. Looks pretty sweet to me. And the second one that ...

Also, the new map is a bit crazy. Only aircraft? It's pretty fun although controling them is still a bit hard.

Re: Battlefield 1943 360/PS3

Yeah, I got it for the 360. My box has trouble reading disk now-a-days so it's nice to have a FPS. Although I would like to have someone on my team that I can trust, I get stuck with the dumbasses that just wait on the boat for the plane to respawn instead of trying to take the points. But the game ...

Re: A question about buying a new laptop

Yeah, that was the main reason for the post. I'm not a fan of buying brands I'm not familiar with. The thing that got my attention on this was that for the price, it seemed to cover the things i wanted. Like the premium on vista. From what I understand, if you buy vista now, you get a free update to...

A question about buying a new laptop

Well, I have been looking for a good laptop for a while now and have stumbled on this Acer Aspire AS4520-5464 . My question is what is your opinion of this particular model and the maker, Acer. I have never owned a laptop and all that I have used are dell and toshiba. I would want a Mac, but the pri...

Re: Recommend a DSLR for Zod

From what I understand, the Pro models don't take non-digi, EF lenses. But the XS takes both the old EF lenses from pre digital, which has a red dot on the base of the lens where it mounts to the body, and the new digi EF lenses that have a white dimond at the base of the lens. Other than that, I do...

Re: Recommend a DSLR for Zod

I recently bought the Canon XS and I love it. The kit lens is not bad at all and has Image Stabalization. With Just over 10 mega pixels, you don't even need a telephoto lens right away, just set it to take large images and zoom in and crop on the computer. But that goes with pretty much any camera w...

Re: SDN Photo-a-Day

Are you doing any kind of post-processing on those photos? The last two aren't level and it is extremely distracting and is drawing attention away from the photograph. The exposure looks great on all of them, and the last two in particular look good but it's just the lack of being level that kills ...

Went up to the Sandia Mountains up on the east side of Albuquerque on Thursday with the gf. Managed to take a hike to the tram and back to the crest, about a three mile round trip. Well, the screen gives life for a split second with a _ like it wants to boot and then pops onto a black screen, so I have the impression that it didn't die. When it did boot the first few times I tried it, it had the same underscore and then typed out something too quick to read. After that it woul...

Help fix a free Sony Vaio

Well, just as the title says. I have come across a Sony Vaio VGC-V517G for free and it looked like it was going to run just fine. The system itself was given to my old roommate without the wireless keyboard, mouse, or remote. Now, the first time I booted it up, it worked just fine, and it looked lik...
