Re: Star Trek Discovery Season 5 (Spoilers)
I'm wondering if the Dreadnought is huge because it's low tech? Like full of massive powerful but space inefficient fusion generators instead of compact dilithium warp cores or something. That said it is proven powerful in the latest episode. (Otoh Disco had been battered by the badlands before the ...

accidental double post. see above
random thought: native 32nd century ships are not growing on me appearance wise.
that breen dreadnought was huge and felt as out of place to me as lower deck's orion one.

Re: Star Trek Discovery Season 5 (Spoilers)
etrigah - spoilery thoughts Man, Raynor is really well versed in his DS9, fitting since his species came from it. His plan is straight out of Kira's playbook in Emissary and the Romulan expression "Never turn your back on a breen" is from In Purgatory's Shadow/Inferno's Light as well. I'm ...

Same thing. This is the final story arc. We still seem to have an awful lot of stuff between Red cloak, Xykon and the snarl to go.

And tell Burnham and Tilly to get full details on a ritual before triggering it. Seriously.
Pretty standard episode though. Didn't click with me so it took a few attempts to get through.

It does make me wonder. Is Bojo really that shambolic, or is he just addicted to playing the fool long after it stopped being funny? I've heard speculation it was either a deliberate thing, thinking they'd let him vote anyway and he could pick holes with the system or it's for Search Engine Optimis...

Re: Star Trek Discovery Season 5 (Spoilers)
So as it turns out: L'ak is a breen. Apparently breen can do without a suit but culturally don't as that form is seen as lesser. We get Moll and L'Ak's back story which is fine and most of the episode is set on a derelict Connie class using SNW sets to save money. All pretty decent but by the book r...

So this weeks plot reveals the krenium were involved in the temporal cold war or at least someone got a hold of their tech. Their even seems to be a oblique reference to Calpyso, those the scenario doesn't line up with that episode exactly. I think this is a good standalone episode and it's worked w...

We bombed them and you should sanction them for responding! I hate this. Especially the amount of play that seems to be getting everywhere.

Nothings changed about the potential for nuclear escape so that's not likely to happen. It's weird how everyone is very concerned about provoking Russia into nuking someone by resisting them too hard but no one in the Russian government seems too concerned about provoking anyone else into a nuclear...

I only hope they knew going on.

Star Trek Discovery Season 5 (Spoilers)
Fifth and Final Season, folks. Plenty of TNG references and fanservice here, a little to Picard by way of consequence. This time they are hunting down technology a Romulan found from the Progenitors from TNG's The Chase. It's got a nice treasure hunt vibe going on. Tilly's back in the cast, Saru see...

The principle remains the same though. You either don't mix them up with live rounds or you check everyone before you use them. Or ideally both.
eta: I mean they had zero need for live ammo on a film set, there's not excuse really for having any on set to start with.
