Re: Star Trek Lower Decks Thread
4x09 It's good to see T'Lyn and any of the LD crew finally realizing they once fought side by side with the Pakleds. With the current development in the whole canon a lot of names dropped in this episode is interesting. Nick Locarno: Now THAT's an interesting development I didn't know I wanted, espe...

4x08
My favorite part of this episode? The somehow death of the "warp engines damage subspace". The issue itself was an interesting, universe-affecting plot point, but unfortunately only used on like a couple of dialogue in later episodes.

Re: Star Trek Lower Decks Thread
This is probably the first time I didn't quite enjoy a Lower Decks episode to the point I started nitpicking on the humor in my head while watching, such as Tendi blushing in red (while it's obviously just for fun), and how a society with everyone greedy to the extreme operates normally every time c...

Re: Star Trek Lower Decks Thread
Necro-ing for the latest season. S4E1 Demonstrated how bonkers Starfleet is with handling shit on their ships: It's 3 years since Voyager has returned and everything ranging from the dangerous holograms to Neelix's cheese is still on the ship waiting to hit the fan. Not to mention 7 of 9's Borg equi...

Re: [TV Series] Ahsoka Discussion Thread [Unmarked Spoilers!]
It's not and it's basically back to the OT depiction.
("The Force resides in all living things.")
And when Sabine asks why not everyone is a Force user Ahsoka only mentions that talent is a factor, plus training and focus.
Makes me wonder how the current makers view midichlorians.

Episode 3
I'm not familiar with the animated series, but is this the first time post prequel that Force users are not midi-chlorian based?

Re: Strange New Worlds (spoilers)
Sulu also started out in the TOS series as a science officer, blue uniform and all.
The S2E10 trailer is out. Things SERIOUSLY don't look good.

Re: Strange New Worlds (spoilers)
Tl;dr The other conn officers we've seen were good pilots and enjoyed piloting, but were using it as a stepping stone to other things. Ortegas is a career, specialized pilot. She's basically Starfleet Top Gun. Back in S2E1 Ortegas did mention about having her own "warp command" so she's p...

Re: Strange New Worlds (spoilers)
The body armor in M'Benga/Chapel's flashbacks did seem a bit DISCO-ish, but the uniforms didn't seem so. The Klingons in the flashbacks of were more like TNG types, which was a bit disappointing considering that at least a DISCO type was spotted in 2x01. I was expecting to see some more Ortegas invo...

Re: Strange New Worlds (spoilers)
They're also doing a musical episode later. Not sure why the showrunners made this season with more light-hearted episodes. Not complaining, just feeling it kind of odd for a 10 episode season.

Re: Strange New Worlds (spoilers)
2x06 Wow, that seems a bend on established dialogue to get the characters to interact in Prime timeline (does it still count as Prime timeline with the Temporal Cold War shenanigans? :P ) I'm looking forward to see all the outrage/rational on this. On a funny note, we now have a "space hippies&...

Re: Strange New Worlds (spoilers)
I find it kind of odd that the space faring Vulcans would miss such an anomaly in their own system. Perhaps they just take it for granted?

Re: Picard - general discussion [spoilers]
The whole conspiracy plot became kind of unconvincing after it was laid out (infiltrators and genetic rewriting), but hey, anything for a final battle. Ending battle seemed eerily familiar. Data even says "Here goes nothing" before doing the whole maneuvering thingy. It's like the writers ...

Re: Picard - general discussion [spoilers]
LD could probably do a "meeting future selves" episode to connect the event. TBH the issues involved so far are just begging to have some comical twist in them.

Re: Picard - general discussion [spoilers]
Star Trek safety at a new WTF level...but well. Plot-wise Geordi did mention that the E-D was the "last operational ship" not plugged to the network. So probably the other goodies at the museum despite them being old ships weren't even operational at all for some reason (no fuel, warp core...

Re: Picard - general discussion [spoilers]
3x04 The solution to the crisis was kind of meh-ish but the feeling of the crew working together on it was great. Not sure with the whole Vadic hand scene. If the hand was with her did she really need to "report" on the status? The changeling hibernates/limits its own senses while in hand ...

Ep11
I kept watching the space battle scene. Luthen handled the situation in a ruthless cool.

Re: The Orville: New Horizons
3rd episode...the series creates their own "Q".
4th episode is wow....the Krills going all back to arrogant fundie roots and doing a MAGA was an unexpected twist. But since it's early in the season I guess it's a setup for something to resolve later.

Re: Anyone else watching Obi-Wan Kenobi?(Spoiler thread)
Additionally, I can't help but wonder whether budget restraints resulted in Vader's ship in orbit basically not doing anything (nor even shown later). They could've at least used some dialogue such as immediately entering hyperspace once clearing the planet to resolve the situation.

Re: Anyone else watching Obi-Wan Kenobi?(Spoiler thread)
Was there any reason why Reva didn't cut through the doors in the first place? It seemed like a forced excuse to set up the dialogue between her and Obi-Wan.

The Orville: New Horizons
Since it's been on air for two episodes now I'll just put up a new post here. So far I'm quite impressed on how the stories are so far on a bigger scale this season. I hope the space zombies they encountered in Episode 2 will show up a more couple times, just enough to extend the storyline but not t...

Re: Strange New Worlds (spoilers)
Episode 4 has Enterprise vs. Gorns in space combat, and it managed to use like all of the tropes of a submarine combat film. No objections since it was quite a fun watch seeing how Gorns turned from "scary space monster" in TOS and ENT (and even in the beginning of SNW when La'an talks abo...

Re: Strange New Worlds (spoilers)
No? How many photon torpedoes' worth of fire did the E-nil eat when they met Nomad again with little apparent effect? I checked memory alpha and it said a firepower equivalent of 90 photorps lowered the shields to 80%. I guess I'll go watch "The Changeling" again. Maybe the producers are ...
