Re: Progressives and the Ron Paul fallacies

Obama would be a disaster. Yes, Ron Paul has been a disappointment on his civil liberties platform, and Obama would (provided he had remained true to his positions) be less prone to violating people's rights. However he would further entrenth the securitization of domestic policy, and continue the t...

Re: Canada leaves Kyoto

a better analogy would be if denmark was the only country in europe to impose cfc regs

the eu countries went along with it because all of the eu countries did, collectively

and but this was not mirrored in north america

Re: Canada leaves Kyoto

yeah, kyoto had a lifetime of 15 years, and only by 2003-4 was the liberal government making any moves towards it, nearly half way through it. the conservatives ended up in the interesting position of having to back out of a deal that they A) didnt like and didnt want to follow, and B) their positio...

Re: Battlefield 3

you're stupid if you think the issue is that "paddles dont have crosshairs" the issue is just flat out glitches preventing you from rezzing the dude you're shoving your paddles into. or having to paddle at the wall a meter away from the body to rez him or the guy having already respawned, ...

Re: Sword of the Stars II released, is gigantic pile of fail

yeah, i think theres still a bias against that sort of approach, whereing "only indies do that". similar to the long era of "proper games are full price (50-60) at launch"

Re: CIA drone program using REALLY loose targeting guideline

yeah, afghanistan and pakistan have been involved in what could be described as a border war for the last year or two. ANA mortar pakistani frontier forces, the pakistanis rocket them back. Gunmen are allowed to cross from pakistan into afghanistan unhindered, and vice versa. And yeah, on a couple o...

Re: CIA drone program using REALLY loose targeting guideline

hey, no problem. The thing with having a "realistic plan", is that the diplomatic approach was the one used from 2001 to around 2007-2008. The US was desperately trying to get Pakistan to engage, and bring the tribal areas under control, and patrol the border, etc, but it just wasnt happen...

Re: Battlefield 3

christ, i cant wait for the time when servers leave out conquest damavand. its hilarious when i grenade a humvee and set it on fire, and then like 5 minutes later it explodes and i get like 4 teamkills. the g3 is pretty boss, its just too bad that they stripped out the interclass weapons that werent...

Re: CIA drone program using REALLY loose targeting guideline

Also, drones? The popular majority clearly weren't the ones who voted for the NDP, seeing as the Conservatives won a majority. Anyway, in regards to jesters post and the guiding theory of the CIA's operations, it seems to me that the CIA isnt really autonomous in this regard, they merely are the one...

that would have been interesting, with laser designators being carried around to call in different types of strike? give it a variable cool down depending on how powerful it was?

Re: Battlefield 3

yeah, jets just dont make any sense here

maybe if the conquest maps were really large, like the old battlefield maps, but that means ages of walking

caspian conquest has the lav-ad, and i think a few other conquest maps do as well

i dont think aa shows up on many rush maps at all, except canals

Re: Battlefield 3

I'm fairly certain suppression is just a pretty effect, becuase I've been headshot from the hip by sv98s and then got a 50-point suppression bonus while dead. :v And seriously the kormets are great if you just don't use the two that are at the point you're on; there are so many on Tehran that you c...

Re: Battlefield 3

i think their lack of use may have to do with having so many players. 64 players games = instant death at exposed at stations smaller games allow a lot more "hide then shoot them in the ass" and oh man when you get a good position as support you can dominate doing seine rush, i climbed to ...

Re: Battlefield 3

yeah, like in caspian border theres TWO! tows on the central hill, but they're obscured by trees and shit so they're useless. if they werent, they have a much longer range, the central hill would become vital ground, and the battle might be drawn into the environs of the hill, instead of spread out ...

Re: Battlefield 3

no, thats not what im talking about, theres a weapon called the m16a4 between the f2000 and the aek that can be unlocked. but trying to bring it up to look at it just takes you to the m16a3 page, and displays all the unlocks you have for that weapon. likewise for the m4, which you unlock before you ...

man, can you imagine trying to level the scout chopper only by kills? im glad that launcheable smoke grenades are back, i was a bit worried and the sg550 is a bit of a beast so, both the m16a4 and the m4 appear as unlocks on battlelog, are these actually different from the m16a3 and m4a1 that you al...

ando, i'm actually having a lot of trouble with defibs pretty often, using on the guys torso doesnt work, using on the "death" icon (usually near the head) sometimes works, and sometimes i just need to shock the cement two feet to the right of the guys leg. in bc2 you had to shock where th...
