Re: The Salvation War: Pantheocide. Part Eighty Up
The lake not having a bottom is very interesting. I remember reading a description of Hell that says digging deep enough will have you going out somewhere else in Hell. What if this lake does that? After a point, instead of going deeper, you start going up. Yahweh's corpse might refloat eventually....

This is a few pages late, but I will never forgive Jamie and Adam if they don't weasel their way into sticking around long enough to film the gate coming down.

Re: The Salvation War: Pantheocide. Part Sixty Five Up
I just had a thought: How would George Washington think of our country now? After he's pulled from the pit and all. I've been wondering this about all of the Founding Fathers, really. I could imagine them getting together after being rescued and discussing how America turned out. Perhaps something ...

It's entirely possible that this isn't far from the truth at all.GrayAnderson wrote:Brilliant job, Michael. Now the humans are going to be leaning towards the whole condemnation-to-Hell of the world as being the ravings of a mad, out-of-control deity (if I had to guess).

Another point in their favor is that Norse culture was very big on hospitality. If someone came to your home, you were obligated to bring them in and treat them well. An envoy of humans to Asgard would probably not have to worry about, for example, getting stabbed in the back in their sleep, or havi...

Also, I was actually tempted to change the dealer part way through the game to the sort of person who the gods might think they could cheat, but who would in fact have proven the sort of character who would have turned such cheating on its head. But I decided to leave all of the Chaos' gods getting...

This might not be a popular thing to say, but the issues the conquest of hell has caused with abortion may be more due to general squick, than reason. Consider this: Most of the fetuses that end up in hell will have brains that are too poorly developed to host a consciousness. Indeed, that's the ma...

I would throw out the confession as well. Like Baughn said, this could set an exceedingly dangerous precedent, which is something all judges have to be mindful of every time they make a ruling. I'm not certain about throwing out the intelligence gained from it, however, since we've had a very, very ...

You know... I've been pondering something for awhile. The "lie down and die" part of The Message... could that have been at all similar to what Uriel does? Only on a global scale, and not quite as immediate? Also: Great chapter! I loved the "wouldn't come in and fight like a dog"...

Idly, I'd like to make a request for something the humans do when (not if) they manage to open portals to Heaven. Bring some SR-71 Blackbirds out of retirement for strategic reconnaissance. Heck, for the first part of its existence it would be less of a think tank and more of a "getting the dead guys up to speed" tank. It could potentially be helpful if each generation of scientists has their predecessors and sucessors to talk with, so they can get a clear idea of what came b...

I have to wonder... do any of the other pantheons exist out there?
Because the one general seemed to imply that they are considering them potentially hostile if they do, even though there's been no contact with them. Heaven and Hell pretty much laid it out there right on the table.

I think the post was referring to the fact that the Tylium ship jumping did no damage to the raptors that were right next to it, but a raptor (which is much smaller than the Tylium ship) jumping causes much damage to the Galactica. It did still knock them back significantly. Galactica was too massi...

The Bolo should be able to do it with it's contra\anti gravs. One of the Bolos novels I've read had a bolo being able to hover\fly at an altitude of about 6 kilometers. Galactica dropped from rather higher up. One of the officers says "Altitude 99,000, falling like a rock" just after they...
