What do you do best?

What kind of talents and skills do you have that set you apart? Are there some things that you can do that makes you the envy of your friends? Do you have an unbelievably huge collection of _____? Can you build amazing things out of legos? Do you fly planes? Can you charm people into doing your bidding? Did someone start a rumour when you were in high school (for Strav, elementary school

) of how great you are in (and out of) bed?
Here are some of mine:
- I'm so good at giving back massages that people in college gave me money to rub their shoulders in the halls between classes.
- I bake the best chocolate chip cookies and mint chocolate chip cheesecake ever.
- I'm a very good listener to my friends, and will do what I can to help them with their problems. I've also been told that the advice I give is usually spot on. Go me.
- I'm very generous with the little amount of money I have, and am known for getting awesomely random presents for my friends (and family sometimes too).
- I have a mischevious streak a mile wide, but also have the charm to weasel my way out of trouble when I manage to get caught.
- I have this crazy sense of scale when it comes to driving distances, so I tend to make it to the best barbeques, even when they're almost 500 miles away and I drive up just for the night.
- I can play the anvil so well that I get paid to do it. I also get paid to rework other people's compositions, but that doesn't sound as cool.
So don't be modest! What are some of yours?

My oddball list off me head:
- Commiseration buddy: My friends tell me everything for whatever purpose. At just at any time of day, I'm there to listen no matter how much of little advice I can give.
- I can bake very good cakes(ranging from a simple yellow to a flourless chocolate), and sear a damn fine steak.
- Road Trip extra: This from a slew of college buddies. I can keep another person up for hours, on roadtrips.
- I used to play Street Fighter games well enough for money...haven't done that for years.
- Mean enough look that no one has screwed with me for more then 15 years.
EDIT: And hustle Pool. Was good enough to particpate in State Tourneys....ahh.

Despite my atrocious memory, I'm an extremely quick and thorough learner. To the great annoyance of some of my friends, I do not have to study in the slightest for most tests. During my freshman year in high school, I did virtually none of the homework and labs for biology, yet passed the class with a C thanks to a streak of 93%s on tests, with a couple 83%s and the rest in the same range.
Naturally, this extends to things like finals, to the frustration of all around me.
"Finals week? Yeah, so?"
I'm also good at eyeballing imperial measurements, handy for those artillery and mortar strikes in 40k.

* Nobody tells a ghost story or anecdote as well as I do, period.
* I kick ass at Q-bert and Boulderdash even though nobody still plays it.
* I make the finest cup of tea in existance, from leaves.
* I know more about proposition bets, long-odds gambling and friendly cons between friends than I should, and tell great tall tales about same.

Let's see, off the top of my head:
- I'm a very good instrument pilot. No one can match my SA while flying in the soup. Most people fear the bad weather, I love it, it's my favorite kind to fly in.
- I'm sorry Zaia, but it is I who bake the best chocolate chip cookies. Don't be too disappointed to come in second, that's still pretty good. Just not WP good.
- Back in the day I made the best Lego models around. Some time after elementry school my building dropped off dramatically, but towards the end of college I restarted my collecting and building. I've posted a few creations in A&P.
- I am the mac daddy on Quatro Pro. If people would just drop that peice of shit program known as Excel I'd be king of the world.

On several occasions people have expressed awe at my knowledge of pornography.

* Finding illegal porn. I don't care how well you hide it, I'll find it. Even if you hide it in the middle of a Disney tape and stick that tape in a carton of 50 children's tapes I'll still find it.
* Lying. I'm not particularly proud of this one, but I'm a damn good liar and I've told some real doozies in the past and gotten away with it. I could probably make an honest living as a conman.
* Bumming it. No one I know is better at being a lazy bum than I am. I'm so good at sitting on my ass and doing nothing that it's not even funny. Most people I know go nuts after about a month of not working, last year I sat on my ass for almost half a year while waiting for my Customs job to start. It was such a great vacation at home and I wish I coulda sat on my ass longer.

- Writing long, boring research papers on obscure areas of law
- Jedi dish-pigging skills
- Knowing how to work my parents' stereo system
- Warped sense of humour
- My friends tell me I'm a good listener, although this is mostly because I can't think of anything to say
- My 'quirky' view of the world
- Uncanny ability to acquire useless information seemingly out of thin air
- I can speak fluent 'lawyer'
- The ability to give somebody a good telling off, while not actually being rude to them

Several years ago I found my 'niche' as a technical trainer ... my 'worthless' liberal arts education actually made me a very good communicator, my law school education made me a good critical thinker and comfortable speaking in front of groups .... now I get loads of praise from both geeks and the technically inept at my ability to help them comprehend new concepts. I'm really able to tailor my presentation to the level of the audience so they get a lot out of it.
I've always been an excellent shot ... I'm sure I couldn't compare to true professionals, but I've always had a steady hand and good eye.
Also a steady hand at the helm -- started dinghy racing in sailboats when I was 11, and I have the dusty trophies to prove it!
I am an excellent ear for female friends to speak to .... but alas, I'm still an ignorant bonehead when it comes to my own girlfriend, it never fails.

- I can adapt to almost any social situation and am a true master of small talk. There's almost no field where I cannot believably simulate some knowledge.
- I have a very uncanny connectionw with animals. Almost every animal, even animals normally afraid of strangers, are friendly towards me.
- I'm capable of bureaucratic thinking

- I'm a good cook.

I make damn good pancakes. And I mean they are good.
I'm able to pick up foreign languages pretty quickly, but if I don't practice them it seems like they atrophy a hell of a lot faster than with other people.

Erm... well, I guess being able to make people laugh and or groan at humour must count, am fairly quick off the mark. I've been able to make people laugh with some of the stuff I've written, that's always a good ego boost when you get a room of chuckling people. I'm a pretty good public speaker, can get pretty animated as all my nervousness drains to my legs. I'll talk to most people and get on with them, that's always useful.
Oh, and so far, through collaboration with parents and an excellent group of guests, have managed to give consistently rocking new years eve and summer bbqs.
And as far as random pressies go, it's my overdraft, I'll spend it how I want as long as I can still pay it back.
In truth, I'm not particularly spectacular at anything, but that's probably my best stuff.

I'm very good at literary analysis, which has helped my German studies immensely.
I grill the best hamburgers and steaks on the planet, I'm told. I now have to master the art of the griddle...and sliders.

I am good at:
- Knowing when to stop. I have only ever been "really drunk" once, and that was on a freshers week pubcrawl. When ever i go out i always drink just enough to have fun, just enough to fit in and just enough to keep it reasonably cheap. The fact that i can hold my drink as good as an agric student also helps.
- Being responsible. As the consequence of the above, i am the person in my group of friends who helps the legless one walk, tells the taxi where to go, calms people down if they're aggressively drunk and so on. The benefit of this is the amount of favours i get in return.
- Being a bit of a git. Admit it. Reminding someone who has completely forgotten about a piece of work that the dead line is that day is worth it just to see the look on their face. It's also good to just make up a piece of work to get the same effect.
- Remebering rules in games, particularly Games Workshop games. If people want to check something i'm the man that's a living rule book. Actually having read the rule book helps. This is not to say i'm some pedantic rule freak who insists that the letter of the law be followed at all times, but i will correct people who make mistakes such as thinking overwatch fire in necromunda has to be in the Movement phase, or that the Dread Axe / Deamonic stature combo doesn't ignore all saves in WH40K.
- Using, and defending myself for using, the autosniper in Counter Strike. Seriously, it's in the the game, so learn to deal with it and stfu. I have no sympathy for some idiot who assumes i'll leave the bombsite or the hostages unguarded and wanders aimlessly arund a corner only to get pegged. And once you know i'm using the auto bring a smoke grenade, or at least a flash bang. I have even less sympathy for people who keep on going through the same place and getting sniped every time and all they do is carry on moaning, rather than learning from their experiences.

My little list of talents:
- Languages. I can pick up the basics of a foreign language very quickly and generally manage to learn them rather well in a surprisingly short time. Put my mind to it and get immersion and I'll be comfortable speaking a new language enough to get by in about six months.
- I'm also pretty damn good at making an accurate assessment of people from the get-go, just from the initial encounter, even if very brief. I know almost instantly if I'm going to like a person or mesh well with them and whether or not I can potentially trust them deeply enough to call them real friends, and I have very rarely been wrong. Even to my own astonishment, I've found that it works for me online as well, though not quite as accurately or quickly, but given the text only nature of the net which removes body language, facial expressions and tone of voice, the difference is insignificant.
- I'm good at listening, and people generally tend to be comfortable telling me pretty private things. I'm also good at identifying problems and solutions to them, but only as long as they are not my problems.
- I'm good at identifying the key points of any given issue. Maybe not as good as some of the more prominent members here, but good nonetheless.
- I'm good at writing stories. That's what I've been told by some rather damn good storytellers, so I will lay claim to this feat.
- I have a knack for explaining stuff in a way that allows complete neophytes to understand it, even when it is reasonably complex, technical and/or obscure. I've often had to explain things in layman's terms to somebody who knows fuck-all about them, and if I can make my dad understand even small things about the technical nature of some computer problems (which I have done), I'm pretty damn good.
- When it comes to trivial things that have no real meaning with regards to anything important, I've got the most damn amazing luck I've seen or heard of. There's a running joke between me and a friend of mine that whenever we e.g. play any computer game, I cheat merely by taking part because everything just runs my way and I don't even have to put in any effort.
- Considering my generally pathetic physical shape, I can put in surprisingly long hours doing heavy, strenuous work without being all wrung out afterward. Depends somewhat on the type of work, but lifting and carrying stuff, rearranging heavy things.
I think that's about enough of singing my own praises.

I make damn good pancakes, for one.
For another, I'm good at listening to my friends' troubles and keeping their secrets if they want me to.
I'm good at just about any type of game as long as it's not some kind of puzzle crap.
I'm a stubborn bastard. People have one hell of a time convincing me to do something I don't want to, especially if it's a stupid idea.

I'm very good at conceding when I'm wrong and acting like an overbearing prick when I'm right.
I know when to shut up and get to work, unless its really really boring work.
Listening, although that's a must the amont of time I'm stuck in a car with my father or sister, neither of who will ever shut up.

1. Making up rhymes right on the spot. They may not be good, but they do rhyme.
2. Impromptu speaking. I am usually very good at simply getting up and giving short impromptu speeches without nervousness or pausing.
3. I have a lot of background knowledge about studies of science, and some logical fallacies.
4. Speed-reading.

- I'm capable of making the third best chocolate chip cookies, since apparently the top two are reserved.
- Surprising amount of physical strength given the fact that I don't exercise enough
- I'm able to find anyone's inside joke funny, whether I'm in on it or not
- I'm extremely durable. Never broken a bone, never sprained or twisted a joint. And not for lack of trying. I've fallen through a sliding glass door, nearly gotten my eye scratched out by a cat, been attacked by a Saint Bernard, collided with someone during a gym class while we were both moving at a full sprint (nearly broke my cheekbone, but it held up), etc.
- I am a repository for useless information. A master of trivia. From Star Wars to the American Civil War to Family Guy to kiwi birds.

Well, I am, of course, amazing at anything I do, but if I had to come up with a few...
+ I'm a good cook. I haven't been to school for it, I considered it, but I didn't want to make a career out of it. Occasionally I make mistakes, but overall, I made a damn good meal.
+ I'm a good director. And stage manager. I have a natural finesse for theater. And I am planning on going to school for that.
+ I'm a natural learner. Like others have posted, through high school I'd ace tests, and not do homework, and balance out my grade with high 80's. Only later into college have I actually had to *study*.
+ I'm a good teacher, I'm great at tutoring and teaching classes, and helping people understand things.
+ I'm a good public speaker. I'm not great at it yet, but with practice, I will be.
+ I think I'm reasonably creative. With practice, I could be a decent artist, and my prefered mediums are photography, acrylics, and chalk pastels.
+ I'm amazing at "knowing things". I have an astounding amount of random trivia I keep in my ass, that I can whip out at any time. At work, they call me the "Answer Girl," cause as one of the girl's put it, "Dammit, she knows everything!" It's amazing, cause I have a crappy memory in general. *Rimshot*
Unfortunately, it seems all my talents are other people's talents. I need new and creative talents!
Well, I've also been told by quite a few people I'm good at... *cough*
giving head, to both boys and girls. And that I'm good in bed, in general. *shrug* It's hard to get objective opinions of that though. and that I'm good at making people feel at ease, and comfortable. And I can always make people laugh.
