Do you think Saavik is a Romulan/Vulcan hybrid?

Post by Admiral Talya Marsh »

From the latest edition of ST: The Magazine, the writers of ST II originally put in that her mother was the Romulan commander seen in "The Enterprise Incident" and her father was Spock.

I honestly think that she is a Romulan/Vulcan hybrid.

What do you think

No, because that idea didn't survive the writing process for the script.

Yes, because I like the idea, it was in the WOK novelization. It makes sense as well when Saavik is crying at Spock's funeral. It just adds depth to a character I really enjoyed in ST and hated the fact that she was written out :(

In Star Trek the novelizations and the Fanfiction Story "Porthole" have equal canon status. Mind you one's a lot better to read, but it's still non-canon.

And I think the Vulcan/Romulan hybrid idea was a good one.
