I know that the old board strek-vs-swars is no more, but does anyone know the location of/have any archived copies of it?

Don't think any were ever made. A shame - some comedy gold on there.

XaLEv made one, but Rogue 9's file hosting appears to have died since then.

There is one here that I made (but shortly afterwards XaLEv made his, which was better).

Not all of them are there, that's for sure- but the classic one where Darkstar got his shit ruined with his idiocy about the Lars' homestead (insisting it was dirt, and then getting torpedoed by his own links) is there :)

IIRC it went down twice - first they froze it, then it was resurrected for a while, then it died. My backup was from when they froze it, so threads from after it restarted won't be there. Sorry if there are any other omissions.

Indeed, thats the birthplace of "worf wins a barfight by cutting a space marines throat with a glass bottle "

I challenge anyone to find something more ridiculous than that, although I shan't be shocked if you do!

The Die is Cast got some fantastic stuff as well, like TV resolutions during the broadcast of DS9 not being good enough to show gigantic fireballs and plumes of ejecta.

How about the entire military mobilizing to defend Da Bloods from Darth Maul? :P

Don't they have any concept of suspension of disbelief?

I've always found this amusing, considering that Guardsmen tend to survive worse neck injuries.

The most annoying claim along those lines is that argument that it's not possible to show starships engaging each other from beyond visual range on television, even though Babylon 5 showed EXACTLY this in 1995's "The Coming of the Shadows." For some reason, every single time combat ranges come up during the debate, Trekkies insist that we throw out the visuals and rely instead on the dialogue because of this insurmountable "problem" with television at the time, totally oblivious to or intentionally ignoring B5's depiction of such combat.

No, the only concept they understand is "Star Trek must win, no matter what"
