I can't make it to GW either... but I know of a sizable army of Aethelmearcians who will be there

Passing of the Ice Dragon this weekend
Coronation of Malcom and Tessa on April 10th
Blackstone Raid is the 22nd-25th.

And I have just been told to not hand-sew anymore, since it's caused tendonitis in my elbow. How will I get this new dress done in time?!

I just hate turning over to a sewing machine when the rest of it is hand-sewn

The News Story isn't the real point. Take a look at the photo alongside.

Anyone recognize the armor of these Peers?

Well, only one of them's a peer. And no.

Ok, so the other is 'just' a squire... Who happens to be the one mocked up as Adobe.

Well, any jackass can be a squire if a knight likes him enough. And I doubt the person doing the mockup knew or cared about the difference; he just grabbed an image of two guys hitting each other with sticks.

The gold overdress is done.
A green denim herald's baldric, with hand-embroidered trumpets, done
Two muslin coifs for Nit... the first one a bit too small, dammit.
A new veil hemmed just enough to resist fraying.
Multiple rolls of cookie dough, to be baked Wednesday Night. Hopefully the vanilla-chocolate dough forms the Baronial Badge like I want it too, otherwise my co-workers will be getting it.

I still want to Make Things.......

I will pass that along to the fencers in Port Oasis, especially Don Valentine. ;)

I was too busy to see the fencers, unfortunately, so I have no idea how that battle went. I understand they were using balloon-sheep? LOL!

Well if you're telling Dons, remember I'm just the messenger; it's my regional commander they want.

Wow. Just got back from coronation. The Dread Lord Dag was assassinated by Queen Anne-Marie in the middle of court, right after the king was repudiated by the Chivalry. Ealdormere's monarchs were present and pledged support to the Midrealm at Pennsic. We were told that Trimaris, Northshield, and Aethelmearc have also pledged alliance. The new king and queen were presented with the skin of a tiger to use as a throw rug. More details later; have to go to bed.

At Blackstone, DreadLord Dag was surprised by Aethelmearc's declaration. Seems that your new King had been talking behind his back and getting support. ;)

Nice to know Ealdormere's also on our side. They're great fun on and off the field. :)

In a way it's almost too bad; some of my commanders were looking forward to there being no question of the East being outnumbered, so they wouldn't have an excuse to stall battles for hours on end to conduct a headcount. But this works too.

Anyway, after a long quest and horrific battle against the dreaded Unknown Error, I have gotten the video of the Midrealm Spring Coronation uploaded to YouTube. The playlist may be found here.

So... Who's planning on going to Pennsic War this year?

I will not, mostly because Nitram's health, but also because we have No Tent, very little extra cash, and I have no vacation time. (I honestly don't think we'll ever get to Pennsic unless we win the lottery and buy a RV.)

Not this year. Doing GenCon instead. I plan on it next year, though.

Here's some highlights from the Constellation Regional Rapier Championship tourney at the Constellation Academy of Defense last weekend.

I'm afraid the other forty some odd videos I took that day are classified at the highest levels until after Pennsic, since they'll be used to help judge who gets on the champions team.

I didn't go small either, it's for Spring Crown.

Have you heard about the Pennsic Children's Water Battle?

The household that's ran it in the past is unable to do so, because of Mundane health problems among their clan. HRM Tessa the Hunter of Aethelmearc will be sending a challenge out to the kingdoms to keep it running. They need volunteers to man the walls, wrangle the kids, keep the water running, and clean up the water balloons afterward. They also need funds for the water balloons and the loot bags for the kids.

No, hadn't heard about that? What's the age range? I have a 4 year old daughter that might like that.

There's been a bunch of rules changes regarding children this year though, due to a pending lawsuit against the SCA. So who knows what that means for a childrens water fight.

It looks like the Children's Water Battle will be the First Sunday (After the LostBoys battle). According to HRM Tessa the Huntress of Æthelmearc, we've got 40 volunteers so far, and hundreds of cash for loot and water balloons.

The rules changes are mainly for classes ran by the SCA Academy. "Guardian" is anyone whom the parent declares, as of last week. Youth Fighters 17 and older can now fight in the Grand Melee.

And, if you wander about the 'back forty' and find the "Argent, a tri-mount issuant sable from the base" badge of Blackstone Mountain, stop by and chat with THL Ichijo Honen. He's my 'adopted brother'. :) Or find him at the Squires' Battle, or the Belted Championships.
