Dude. I am in love. Hands down, my favorite spaceship ever.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.
Hit it.

I see this being organized/operated in squadrons of five or six ships, with maybe a tender of some sort to use while away from the home port. Something like a Patrol/Pursuit Squadron. At least for the variant we see here.

I get that same vibe with a flight of these operating beside a frigate or a specialized tender corvette for long range operations, but with their main usage being as a customs craft used to patrol customs check points. Sort of coast guard cutters, but much better armed.

Absolutely love it, likely my favourite of your designs to date. My only dislike is that the top mandible guns are a bit bulky and stick out too much for my liking... I think I would prefer sleeker lower turrets mounted there, I don't mind the high turrets on the underside of the design.

My favourite feature would likely be the boarding ramp, the way it deploys behind such a huge turret is brilliant.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Ship is basically done. I'm holding off on posting final renders because I'm in the middle of a massive website update.

Important question - what should it be called?

I'm thinking something like Suppression-class System Patrol Craft would fit nicely, it's aggressive, but also hints at it's role.

Hunting animals perhaps ? HIMSs Beagle, Whippet, Dachshund, Basset, Ridgeback...

Probalby too small for official proper names, I'd think unofficial crew-given names are likely.

Keep in mind that shuttles and small troop transports get proper designations in the Empire, so it very well could have a proper name to go along with crew given nicknames for the class.

New website is up! It's wordpress based, so I can easily add design notes, links, etc.

New renders for a lot of old projects in honor of the change.

For the small ship name, I'm shortlisting Intersector, Funditor, and Velox.

Wrestled just about all of my files into new shader/lighting setup, and updated. New renders for the following:

Assertor: http://fractalsponge.net/?p=190
Bellator: http://fractalsponge.net/?p=155
Altor: http://fractalsponge.net/?p=111

Giel's ship (Praetor) is assembled and now complete:

TIE Hunter final gallery:
http://fractalsponge.net/?p=177

New galleries for AT-SE and Droideka:
http://fractalsponge.net/?p=162
http://fractalsponge.net/?p=231

Also new renders for basically all the starfighters. Example http://fractalsponge.net/wp/wp-content/ ... 24x640.jpg

I do love the Assertor and Bellator designs. Plus I really like that UNSC Infinity model on there.
Baltar: "I don't want to miss a moment of the last Battlestar's destruction!"
Centurion: "Sir, I really think you should look at the other Battlestar."
Baltar: "What are you babbling about other...it's impossible!"
Centurion: "No. It is a Battlestar."

Yeah I know, but I never played Halo 4, and it's still an awesome design :D
