Now, so far, where is the harm to the niece. As far as she knew, she played a moderately amusing game with a beloved Uncle and even got a present out of it - and her Uncle is happy. No physical injuries. Tell me where she got traumatized or abused so far.

Also, we have a general moratorium on "Israel vs Palestine" threads because they always go round and round in the same circles. Only post IvP threads involving some genuinely newsworthy recent event, not just to rekindle the debate over which of them is more evil. 1As well, there is a moratorium on versus/hypothetical scenario discussions involving the Gor series, as the misogynist philosophy espoused by the author and some fans of the series is widely agreed to be entirely revolting and without any possible merit, and such threads invariably devolve into genocide fantasies with no redeeming value.

Anyone with any amount of intelligence should realize that there's no acceptable defence of pedophilia. Even if he demonstrates that he was just playing devil's advocate games without realizing how offensive he was being, and doesn't really support that position, he ought to be banned as an object lesson against typing without thinking.

It's a cut-and-dried application of the rules. His position in the pedophilia thread goes beyond what is reasonable for someone who is just playing the devil's advocate. His positions seem to very clearly be those of someone who is a pedophile apologist at best, and an open advocate for the general acceptance of pedophiles at worst. There can be no mitigating factors here.
