Well, than I have two words for you: "chocolate rain".
Several people working on FiM have now acknowledged that they watch the fandom very closely and they expresedly have created season two with the older demographic in mind. Bronies influenced the show as early as season 1's fifteenth episode. (At least afair thats the one in which Derpy drops stuff on Twilight.)

edit: How can someone doubt the connection? Even just the music is a smoking gun. Just compare the scenes:

Economic Left/Right: -7.12
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -7.74

This is pre-WWII. You can sort of tell from the sketch style, from thee way it refers to Japan (Japan in the 1950s was still rebuilding from WWII), the spelling of Tokyo, lots of details. Nothing obvious... except that the upper right hand corner of the page reads "November 1931." --- Simon_Jester

The danger here is that in trying to cater to the older fanbase, they may lose the spirit of the first season. I want to watch a show about ponies learning about friendship, not some cartoon trying to be too clever and referential.

If it helps, it took the shortest amount of time for Twilight to re-harmonize Fluttershy afterwards, compared to the others.
Didn't twilight turn fluttershy back offscreen?

So all the Luna Fan-Bronies are going to SQUEEE to the high heavens.

Also in somewhat related news, I learned that Joe England, Artist of one of the most popular Web Comics online. Is an out and proud Bronie

Well lets face it, you have this character lying around that people like, has a good deal of potential and can use at any time. Its silly not to make use of what you have got.

Much appreciated! That's a keeper.
As for the staggered episode schedule: there are several possible reasons. I'd bet they're trying to avoid overexposing the show, and maybe want to make people a little more eager to see the next episode by making them wait a little longer.

I think it's simpler than that. The first two episodes of Season 2 were supposed to be the season finale of Season 1; they got shuffled over to the start of Season 2, so they were already done, allowing them to air earlier than other shows.

So yeah. SF Debris is going to be reviewing the pilot two-parter on October 20, as part of WTF Week.

I hope he at least mentions the second season premiere and the fact that Discord is pretty much Q.
