It's also worth noting that the Death Star was essentially invulnerable to a frontal assault. Ostensibly because the Empire didn't want their ultimate superweapon mounted on a platform that could be captured or destroyed by even a large fleet of enemy ships.
Even something as big as the Executor may have been deemed insufficient for such a task, thus it was a moon-sized battlestation with enough defensive firepower to repel any conceivable attack.
