But it is not good and is demeaning to muslims. It would better to call Al-Queda and like just terrorists.
That's like saying that the term "Fascism" is demeaning to strong right-wing political enthusiasts.

Can we please just blitzkrieg the entire Middle East, drop a MOAB on Al Jaziera, tear down the mosques, burn the Quran, impose secular law, and get all Imperial when the natives try to throw a hissyfit? Pretty please? Tell me the world wouldn't be better off in a hundred years if we did.
If Religion and Politics were characters on a soap opera, Religion would be the one that goes insane with jealousy over Politics' intimate relationship with Reality, and secretly murder Politics in the night, skin the corpse, and run around its apartment wearing the skin like a cape shouting "My votes now! All votes for me! Wheeee!" -- Lagmonster

As usual, sex is the only solution
"Right now we can tell you a report was filed by the family of a 12 year old boy yesterday afternoon alleging Mr. Michael Jackson of criminal activity. A search warrant has been filed and that search is currently taking place. Mr. Jackson has not been charged with any crime. We cannot specifically address the content of the police report as it is confidential information at the present time, however, we can confirm that Mr. Jackson forced the boy to listen to the Howard Stern show and watch the movie Private Parts over and over again."

Iraqi society has not had the time to evolve past the strictures of its predominat religion, in 50 years time, with a secular govenment, this would likley not be an issue.
This was hardly unforseen, I think most people realised that Saddam was the only thing keeping the Fundies in line.
I was referring to the way the war was presented.

It's certainly a tempting solution after all the bullshit that's come out of that region of the world, but not, I think, the right thing to do.

It would be better to let them quarrel amongst themselves and eat camel shit, but unfortunately they have oil.

We could conduct a daring operation, using the likes of Rowan Atkinson, to whisk their oil out from under them as they sleep.
