The Republican Brawl Jan 7th

Post by Mr Bean »

Live stream
Watch

Rich Santorium and Ron Paul have declared war on each other. One is corrupt, the other is a crony insider and Rick Perry calls Ron Paul a hypocrite.
Also the moderators are deliberately and obviously trying to cause conflict, and it's not even funny how blatant it is.

This debate is awweesomee.

Mittens is not going after anyone and saying he's not going after anyone.
Also he's shocked Obama does not want an even bigger military.

Rick Perry also wants to increase the military budget.

Oooooh damn, now it's Ron Paul VS everyone, and he just skools Gingrich over his deferments
"I had two kids and was married when I was drafted"

Also Ron Paul is not getting many applause lines but he's the only one getting cheers.

Ron Paul's also called for reform of drug laws and argued that minorities can punished more in the justice system.

Funny how in other cases the Republicans would note correctly that say a trillion dollar cut would be over ten years they don't note this for the military budget cuts.
El Moose Monstero: That would be the winning song at Eurovision. I still say the Moldovans were more fun. And that one about the Apricot Tree.
That said...it is growing on me.
Thanas: It is one of those songs that kinda get stuck in your head so if you hear it several times, you actually grow to like it.
General Zod: It's the musical version of Stockholm syndrome.

That was a fun exchange between Romney and the moderators and the crowd and banning contraception and Paul gets another round of applause.

How fucking sad is it that we actually have an entire field of Republican presidential candidates where the majority opinion is that it's perfectly acceptable to ban contraception?

They said that it's legally allowed to ban contraception but none of them want to do and Paul said that they have no right.
Also Huntsman supports civil unions.

Mitt Romney says that John Adams wrote the Constitution.

He was just naming an example.

Santorum was beginning to make a good point on the necessity of staying in Afghanistan but than it immediatly degenerated into "Obama doesn't recognize the Islamist threat" crap.

Rick Perry wants to send back troops to Iraq. Good luck trying to get Iraq to do that...

Still haven't heard Huntsman say anything I don't like. It's a shame his campaign isn't stronger.

From left to right, it's Huntsman, Paul, someone, someone, Gingrich, Perry. Correct? Which of the middle two is Romney?

It's sad, but saying "cut taxes" to the average moron voter is like saying "do you want candy" to a small child. It's a surefire popularity move, but it's lousy leadership.

What would you be doing if you were not here:
Perry: Shooting Range
Gingrich: College Basketball Championships! I mean Football
Santorum: College football Championships.
Romney: College football Championships.
Paul: Reading and Economics textbook
Huntsman: On the phone with his sons in the navy.

Interesting debate here's my takeaways.

Romney-Untouched, easy debate and got to read half his stump speech on stage.
Perry- No real fuckups except one big fuckup I missed but the media is talking about
Gingrich- Not called on much, kinda subdued
Paul- The enemy of Rick Santorium, the corrupt unbeliever
Santorum- The endless enemy of Paul, death to the Libertarians!
Huntsman-What a nice man shame your running for 2016 now even if you don't know it.

I love how months into Republican Debates their isn't a single candidate among any of them that isn't a complete fucking joke. I mean, this is really the best and brightest of the GOP these days? They'd be better off running Stephen Colbert, Lord Sauron, David Koresh's corpse, Hurricane Katrina, and Ron Paul.
Best care anywhere.

Piers Morgan also made a good point during his interview with Huntsman - He's also making a great case right now that he should be Secretary of State.

Ron Paul is full of shit. He wants to give the States the right to ban contraception and gay marriage, which in practical terms amounts to the same thing.

He also tried to ban abortion on the Federal level.

As for Huntsman, I honestly find it hard to believe this guy is actually in the Republican party. He seems too sane.

He actually has a sort-of endorsement from both Howard Dean and Bill Clinton already.

I think he would be best described as a Nixon Republican, which just goes to show how far right the Republican party has drifted.
