OK, Mike moved the board back to the mains and fixed the SMTP server. Everyone should be good to go.

So it seems that sometimes, code just randomly "breaks" when I view a page. Sometimes it's the code up top, sometimes it happens further down in the thread. Since I can't really describe it, here's a screenshot:

I can 'resolve' it by backing out and then clicking the link again so it'll display properly, but I'm wondering why this is happening.

I get the following in Firefox at random intervals:

And the same for me just a few minutes ago. That particular issue has happened several times over the last 2 days.

Just to add to the fun, the new topic icon for a "hot thread" I've posted in is apparently glitched out for some reason:

Well, it looks fine on BlackSoul, but when I switched back to MF it's still broken. And the top banner seems to glitch randomly, too.

Now, maybe it's a problem on my end, I'm not sure. But I haven't noticed any other graphical errors anywhere else I go. Even on another forum that uses an identical style (that "topic_hot_new_mine" icon isn't glitched).

The "Content Encoding Error" and visible code problems at the top and/or bottom of the pages are happening much more frequently now, with every other link click. The site is loading noticeably slower than normal, as well.

I'm on BlackSoul, but it appears to be glitching random images. Yesterday for me it was the site banner that was similarly glitched. Today the site banner is fine, but the New Topic button at the top of every forum and thread is glitched.

That is with the latest Firefox. It does not seem to happen with Opera 9.64.

I flushed the cache and the error remains.

I pretty much have not noticed anything, running Opera 10.61.

I haven't been on much today, but the issue occurs on my XP Pro (SP3) machine running Opera 9.64, Firefox 3.6.8 and IE 8. It is also happening on my iPhone's Safari browser with the low bandwidth version of the board (just the "Content Encoding Error" issue there). I haven't seen any graphical corruption today, nor visible code issues, but I was still seeing the "Content Encoding Error" sporadically yesterday.

EDIT:

Spoke too soon. The visible code issue AND "Content Encoding Error" just popped up again in Firefox a minute ago. After a page refresh (or 2) it clears).

Does it happen under SSL, normal encryption, both?

I just use the normal encryption.

Also, there are now borders around the images with links in BlackSoul for some reason.

Haven't noticed any pattern there, but it does definitely happen whether I'm logged in or not. I just got the "Content Encoding Error" page immediately after logging in to post this.

Mike is rebooting the server sometime today.

Edit: The server has been rebooted. Please let me know if you're still having problems, and please note OS, Browser version and whether you're on standard encryption or SSL.

A couple glitched avatars and the quote button on MF )pic provided), and the post new topic button (don't have a pic) in BlackSoul. Also, the same border color issues pointed out with BlackSoul in my above post.



EDIT: The avatars are still glitched in BlackSoul too, so I'm guessing it's not a theme problem.

No "broken code" errors that I've seen thus far, though.

EDIT2: I switched over to the SSL encryption and that seems to have solved all the errors.

EDIT3: Returning to standard encyrption, and the errors return.

If he's done anything, it seems to have worked. So far, so good. I have tried my system with all browsers (XP Pro SP3 with Opera 9.64, Firefox 3.6.8 and IE 8), looking at multiple pages and topics with nary a hiccup. IPhone 4 Safari and my old 3G Safari both look okay too, as far as the low bandwidth version goes. Not seeing any image corruption, visible code errors nor the "Content Encoding Error" error page. Last night, the errors were coming quite often. So far, over the last 30 minutes, nothing. Looking pretty solid...
