I like that idea. I was building a bridge to the Red Technocracy in the old story, after all... After the MESS conference is over, I intend to see all my neighbors, which would include Japanistan if they're receptive. I'll probably hit up PeZook first, then Shroomania... definitely Stas... I think the map is still being settled so I'll wait until then to see.

Constructing a Chunnel will take YEARS, but we will have a sense of achievement when we succeed.

OTOH, having a pre-existing Chunnel would be easier and more convenient. You could just DRIVE right into Farbanti! On a car!

Sounds good-- it'll be interesting, having to play out decades of hostility between leaders who really don't care and would rather just get along... heheh. But like Marina said in the set-up; if our subjects think we're screwing it up, they'll rise up and toss us out...

We can have a pseudo Cold War between the Crimson Star Republic and the capitalist pig dogs, particularly decadent ones like Canissia and Shroomania.

But recently, we can have glasnost and perestroika and shit!

As an aside, I'm not sure if we would like to write it into our histories, but it would be nice to link up all the countries on the Old Continent via rail. I'm not sure if Skimmer wants to or not, especially a rail would be cutting through some troublesome territory.

It might not be a 100% continuous connection, but a good network of rail roads would make the Old Continent fairly well connected. The lines would be interrupted in places like Super Chechnya, and the "Middle East", and might have some trouble with whatever disputed land is in Japanistan.

Which part of Japanistan IS Japanistan, and which part is New Sumatra, anyway?

Dude, he grabbed the Malayan peninsular, Sumatra, Thailand and even Myanmar and Laos/Vietnam. I'd be surprised if Skimmer didn't pick Singapore for the capital since it's centrally located.
