*Newsflash*
Review of classified budgeting documents for the Armed Forces of Wilkonia have recently revealed that over the past 5 years upwards of 80% of all military spending has been directed towards Navy funding and R&D. An audit of flight hours in the Wilkonia Air Force showed that 65% of pilots could not meet minimum annual flight hours to retain qualification as fuel and parts shortages grounded all but two interceptor squadrons for more than 10 months per year on average. The Minister for Defense, the Navy, the Army, and the Air Force were all unavailable for comment at this time.
Tension remains as the strike is apparently the culmination of more than 5 moths of rising demands from the ranks which have been carefully concealed by the highest levels of the Defnse Ministry and the Council for Imperial Defense. At this time it is not known if the King was aware of this growing concern or what plans His Majesty has in regards to this latest crisis.

The Sovereign Duchy of Baerne's Ministry of Finance asks the Emperor Shady if he would like to purchase the use of a few ACV (Cargo)s for the transportation of his new small arms?
The ability to transport merchandise without the need for crew-intensive, expensive ships would doubtless be a boon to the Shady Empire, a nations as frustratingly bereft of populations as is Baerne Island.
The Shady Empire is, however, reminded that the ACV is proprietary Shroomanian and Baernish technology, and will therefore be rented to the Shady Empire, not purchased by the same.
The emperor thanks the Sovereign Duchy of Baerne for it's offer, but he would like to see if a cheaper deal can be made with Shroomania. Because the emperor is more interested in buying the ACV's instead of renting them.

Lockmart announced today that it's first commercial satellite has been placed in orbit. Due to limitations in the booster, it's been placed in a highly elliptical orbit, with apogee above SDN archipelago. It's optical sensor will provide advanced weather prediction.
The Peace Dept announced that Lockmart has been awarded a contract for additional Patriot Advanced Capability 3 weapon systems, along with Terminal High Altitude Air Defense Systems. These systems will complement the Standard Missile 2 Block IV and Standard Missile 3 currently deployed on the Ticonderoga-class ships. It also announced the accelerated development of the Medium Extended Air Defense System. Additional systems are projected to be purchased by MESS nations.

ROYAL-1, CANISSIAN AERO-HEADQUARTERS, EN ROUTE TO MISSILE CONFERENCE

Barely has King Arik Coyotus-I been able to enjoy a couple days' relaxing when duty calls again; this time, to the multinational missile conferences. When asked about protestors, King Coyotus-I wasn't worried.
"It is the citizens' right to protest," he said, "It keeps the leaders honest, knowing that the people are watching them. And besides, in a way, I sympathise with them-- I'd prefer a world with no war, and no need to ramp up towards war-- who wouldn't?"
Rumors have it that King Coyotus would like to open discussions on arms limitations, or at least an agreement that all non-conventional weapons of mass destruction be severely limited. When asked why not eliminate them altogether, the King stucka pragmatic stance.
"The genie is out of the bottle, now," he said, "Once the civilised nations outlaw such devices, then terrorist organizations will try to get them for themselves, and dictate terms. A united, international team of first responders, a NEST team, might be a good idea. We'll see what we can accomplish at the conference."
The King then went into the flying Headquarters, a dirigible with staterooms for several dozen ministers and officers, and a complete command, control, communications and intelligence suite for emergency government functions. The King was accompanied by a half dozen young women, whom he referred to as "assistants".

(Good news everyone!)
OOC:By Monday of next week the first Shroomia satellite will be launched, by Friday of next week the GPS system can go live world-wide, with it being fully functional that Sunday.
I'm going to have to juggle the orbits to prevent them form overflying Saddaimstan, since he claims sky rights, not that he could shoot them down if he wanted to since as MEO system's he needs a AST missile with a 6,000 mile range. Not an easy trick for today's military let alone everyone else. Laser's might do the trick but we don't have them today so you can't have them here (Unless you invest the money and time)
But rather than pick a fight, I'm just juggling the orbits and sending up extra satellites to cover the dead-spot it will create keeping the satellite outside the 12 mile area and his territory. /ooc

"Launch window open. Countdown resuming. LV release in 60 seconds." The mission commander onboard the An-124 transport looked at the rest of the launch control team. "All systems green. Drop in 5... 4... 3... 2... 1..."
A parachute pulled the Prometheus Launch Vehicle out of the open rear cargo door, causing the transport to rapidly ascend. After it cleared the transport, the parachute detached, and aerodynamic surfaces pulled the vehicle into a nose up attitude.
"Ignition." The rocket attempted to light it's engine.
"Abort, abort, abort. We have a non-start. Begin abort sequence."
Another parachute unfurled from the launch vehicle. Kerosene streamed out the aft end of the vehicle, shortly followed by an instant cloud, as LOX was vented. Without these, the vehicle would descend too fast for the parachute, and almost certainly break apart on impact with the water.
"Mission Nimbus-9 failed. Call up the transport. Lets see if we can pick it up before the payload gets wet."

Sandy resort, Future Town
Just shortly after having some waterbike fun, Secretary General went up to the city center to congratulate the first workers and engineers of the Future Bridge project.
- Comrades! - he started... and went on for around 15 minutes, telling how great the proposed 25-km great dam-bridge will be, and how it will allow to take huge tariffs for naval pass-through.
The phone rang when we was halfway down from the tribune after an igniting speech.
-
Da. What? I'm on vacation, but I'll get to that. ECSOC will speak to them on my behalf.
He looked back on First Generale Anna, who was in full parade uniform.
- Would you just call ECSOC? I don't really want to talk with it.
She didn't hesistate, pulling out a ALMAZ cellphone.
- Sure.

We are curious about this development and wish to know if the satellite of Tian Xia
fully complies with JSEZ regulations in case it's trajectory interferes with the JSEZ.
Fully complies means no flyovers over JSEZ space below 1000 mi altitude.
We would be grateful if Huang Di Beowulf could plot his satellite's passover trajectory over SDN archipelago and state it's flyover height at passover points in J.S.E.Z. if it has any.
If we notice that the satellite fails to comply with JSEZ regulations and violates the Zone, it will be shot down immediately. If we notice a lack of cooperation from Huang Di Beowulf, we would assume that secrecy is a sign of concealed violations and will bring the matter before all of the international community to see.

- Wait, is he saying he can just violate JSEZ airspace with spacecraft because he's a non-signatory? Oh suure. But since the apogee is 10,000 mi and it's over SDN Archipelago, I guess he doesn't violate it. Fine by me.

Somewhere in Wanhua City, Mangka
Regardless of age, everyone was wearing black clothing. Black suits, black t-shirts, black tanktops...etc Under the black clothing, colorful tatoos of all types of deities or animals seemed to be struggling to tear off from the flesh they dwelt.
A tall man in is thirties entered the door, he was wearing a black leather suit. "Alright guys, I met with the General this afternoon, he said we have a go."
A short applause.
"The plan goes this way. Our Tong goes to Syndromia and the brothers in the 5th go to Gottland. The routine is the same, legal stuff first, everythiing else later. Heck, with all of what's going on there, we'd probably have no time to sell the other stuff."

In international news today, police advisors deployed in the Republic of Mangka announced today that several successful raids had gone off against suspected Triad locations. Although police have made no official comment, unnamed sources claim that among the items siezed were forged foreign passports. No further details have been released.
((OOC: I'll make an "Intelligence Report" later on, but for now suffice to say that we have not caught all of the Triads embarking on whatever mission they seem to be running. Some will have slipped through the net.))

To complement the existing BMEWS radar systems, research and development on the Over The Horizon Radar--Experimental (OTH(X)) has begun, with a projected cost of nearly TRD$2 billion over the next four years. With a maximum range of over 3000 km, it is expected to greatly improve the security of the Tonkin Republic.
Completion of the 180-degree sector shown below is expected within 54 months.

THE NEW MILITARY JOURNAL
DESTROYERS FOR BASES
The Journal has come upon documents, provided by a source within the Foreign Ministry, which indicate negotiations have been ongoing with Shepnukistani authorities. These talks concern the provision of two Nukistani destroyers in exchange for basing right for the OMSK pact.
The current state of talks indicated that countries in the OMSK pact will be allowed to permanently station four naval vessels in Republican military bases and be granted rights to repair and resupply their ships in all our ports ; Also, one squadron of OMSK fighters or reconeissance aircraft will have a right to base out of the Republic.
The Journal does not judge these developments, however we are certain it will spark a controversy in PeZookia, especially in light of the apparent secrecy of the talks.
PRODUCTION LICENSE FOR T-72 TO BE ACQUIRED FROM THE RED TECHNOCRACY
The Ministry Of Defence has announced today that the Republic is going to purchase a licence to manufacture the T-72 tank chassis. Defense Ministry spokesmen have claimed that this was done in anticipation of increased demand for the light "Rosomak" MALS system.
Currently deployed "Rosomaks" have all been modified by hand in small series, however. It is unclear how any serial run production can be accomplished right now.
IS THE LUN BECOMING OBSOLETE?
Janush Boretski, an unaffiliated MP, has given a speech today concerning the LUN. He has argued that growing territorial integration of the LUN and the FUNGAL AXIS has made the LUN obsolete.
This caused an uproar in the Parliament, especially from the Royal faction, who originally proposed the very idea of the LUN.
To avoid disturbing the daily agenda, the head speaker of parliament decided to move any debate concerning the LUN to the next session of parliament, to be held next month. Some see it as an attempt to silence any criticism of the LUN.
PEACE PROTESTS INTENSIFY, CLASH WITH COUNTER-PROTESTERS
Peace protesters, voicing their opposition to the "BLACKBEARD" conference, have clashed with counter-protesting aerospace and electronics students in the capital. The students took to the streets in order to defend what they see as an opportunity to actually become employed in their chosen profession inside the Republic.
Police had to use tear gas and mounted units to break both groups apart ; Seven police officers have been wounded, and one is in serious condition.
Many of those students came to PeZookia from Syndromia as a result of enacting the Student Immigration Act, but untill now saw little opportunity to work in their chosen field. The construction of a "BLACKBEARD" missile production facility in PeZookia is seen by them as a golden opportunity, providing work with good pay for many such students.
There are pepole who see it as problematic, though: "These Syndromian mooks have come here and now want to take our jobs? They are dirty foreigners who destroyed their own country, and yet the government considers them citizens? Hah! I say, they should either leave or be exterminated like vermin!" - Harry Kovalski said to our reporter during a break in protesting.
Leaders of the "Stop War Initiative" have immediatelly condemned Kovalski as intolerant, crazy and having nothing to do with the real anti-war movement. Frankly, the Journal is inclined to agree, seeing as he had his head shaved and started screaming obscenities at our reporter when he heard the aforementioned condemnation.

[You're nation is buying arms and if you buy an ACV on the spot, your wallet is probably gonna have a hole burnt through it. You're nation's still fledgling and you have to be careful.
How about Baerne "lends" you an ACV. You won't pay for it entirely, but you'll make regular gradual payments, and eventually when you've paid for the whole thing, it's yours. The ACV will have Shadows in its crew so your people can learn from the ship and, when the ship is yours, your men will be ready to use it.
Eh, this revised deal can go to Baerne since they need the revenue. You know, the FUNGAL AXIS is supposed to be about member nations backing each other up.]
The Sovereign Shroomanian Sentinel
FUNGAL FERTILITY
With the soaring Shroomanian economy brought about by new deals made with many nations, overseas contract workers from all over the FUNGAL AXIS are going to Shroomania for jobs and for salaries they will send back to their homes and families. The same is happening in the Republic of PeZookia, while it is not part of the AXIS, the prospects of outrageous fees has enticed burly workers from many FUNGAL nations.
Trade and commerce between FUNGAL nations is also booming. Tropical islands like Vulpesia have become international hubs for tourism, with hotels, resorts and malls popping up like toadstools. Vulpesia serves as an example for events transpiring throughout many FUNGAL nations, as investors from Shroomania and elsewhere pump money into their fledgling economies.
The Fungal Fertility has also spread to the most unexpected of places - Blastification. The wastelands of Blastification have proved to be fertile ground for natural resources such as heavy metals and ore, with deposits of uranium and oil. Prospectors and miners are braving the harsh terrains in extracting these hidden treasures.
Though New Gottland does not share the terrain of Blastification, the recent civil war has made the cities of Gottland resemble that of their Blastificated neighbors. But the reconstruction effort goes strong as foreign companies are not only providing the Gottish government with new arms for their military, but are also providing them with the means to rebuild their country. Ironically, the scrap metal harvested from the abandoned centers in Blastification are being used as construction material in New Gottland.
The military-industrial sector has also proved profitable for Shroomania, as the new Blackbeard deals have shown. Not only that, but Shroomanian defense contractors are looking forward to strike a deal with the Bear Republic.

The Shroomanian defense sector has had extensive experience in electromagnetic technology, in light of their development of the railgun prototype, and looks forward to negotiating with their Bear Republican counterparts - not for the creation of another railgun weapon, but for a more peaceful venture into space.
A Bridge To Space - railgun proponents have proposed this peaceful application of their technology.
[Note: Shroomanian defense corporations are looking forward to exporting other designs to other countries. Who wants Challenger 2 battle tanks?
