Too bad I missed that! Sounds like a Kodak Moment.Glimmervoid wrote:Lord Reven what’s your server policy on people bring up the chart box and expecting not to be killed the middle of a game.
I am still very pleased with how jumped off the bridge then on my way down, pulled you off the bridge with force pull then last you were mid air pushed you in to one of the pits to stop you getting away with the flag.
No i killed him and he started shouting.Kurgan wrote:Too bad I missed that! Sounds like a Kodak Moment.Glimmervoid wrote:Lord Reven what’s your server policy on people bring up the chart box and expecting not to be killed the middle of a game.

Meatgrinder's server policy on the chat box is this... do so at your own risk! If you get killed while chatting, changing settings or changing your underwear, it's your own fault. Too bad, point for the guy who killed you!
Who... me, Lord Revan? If it was me, I was joking.Glimmervoid wrote:No i killed him and he started shouting.Kurgan wrote:Too bad I missed that! Ok my host site, www.JediKnight.net is down right now and has apparently been down for the past 24 hours or so. I don't know why this is. This shouldn't be happening, so I'm bugging the higher ups on our staff to fix it (when they get around to checking their messages).Lord Revan wrote:what with the server when I try to play I get "connection interrupted" message almost all the and when try check the server from the link I get "connection refused" and this due to the sad excuse of a PC I use since there were other player thaty seem to have the same problem.
I agree. I've grown to detest the phrase "lamer".Kurgan wrote:Who... me, Lord Revan? If it was me, I was joking.Glimmervoid wrote:No i killed him and he started shouting.Kurgan wrote: Too bad I missed that! Sounds like a Kodak Moment.

I get killed while typing and it's not a big deal. I just don't type if I don't want to get killed that way!
Yeah it's this sense of entitlement that gets me. It's like we "owe" them respect, and it's not earned. They feel they deserve always to be given "a chance" and a "do over" whenever something doesn't go their way. Would they grudge others the same "respect"? Not likely. In any case, the game isn't about giving people chances, it's about beating them and getting the point/flag/objective. They've been brainwashed by the "honorz" servers where that sort of thing flies and the "lamers" are "punished."Praxis wrote:I agree. Person B joins JKA game with person A. Person A gets slaughtered mercilessly in a surprise attack. Person A screams, "Lamer!" as an excuse for his own pitifulness.
(that happened to me the other day)
Alternatively,
Person A has his saber down when person B runs around corner and reflexively kills him. Person A screams "Lamer!" and starts a vote to kick person B.
Or,
Person A starts typing. Person B walks around the corner and kills him. Person A shouts, "Chatkiller!"
It's a game, not a chatroom...
Sorry for the rant but the snots that play JKA really annoy me. Kurgan's server is relatively free of that, but on other server's I've been kicked because some idiot wanted to chat and threw a fit when he ran around a corner right into me and I reflexively shot him.
No it was some random person and I was checking I had not done some thing wrong.Kurgan wrote:Who... me, Lord Revan? If it was me, I was joking.Glimmervoid wrote:No i killed him and he started shouting.Kurgan wrote: Too bad I missed that! Sounds like a Kodak Moment.

Yeah, I try to respect people when typing too, but if I run around the corner and kill them on reflex, hey, it's their fault for typing IMHO. And if they're in my base in a CTF, again, it's their fault for typing, I'm not going to let an enemy stay in my base.Comosicus wrote:I admit I am not the most brilliant player and a lot of times it is frustrating. Some of the people could saw me standing in front of them and waiting for them to finish chatting before engaging.
But I find no use in "lamering" those that do not respect the same rules I do. It's the same like on this board ... who doesn't like the rules is free to go away.
As a personal preference, I think it would be really nice to have some saber-and-force-only games, just for the fun of it.
Agreed, fully. And thats one of the reasons I really like your server. There are way too many of those 'honorz' servers around with the overzealous moderatorsYeah it's this sense of entitlement that gets me. It's like we "owe" them respect, and it's not earned. A lot of these guys also have this thing where they "hold back" certain abilities and then when they lose they can always claim "well if I had been using X, Y or Z (like you) I would have won" etc. Excuses, excuses!
I mean if you can win every game you play, great, more power to ya, but do people have to always fork out excuses and blame "lamers" when things don't always go their way?
Meatgrinder is and always has been a purely competative/fun environment for the game, not this "oh that didn't count, you lamer!" BS. We make JOKES sometimes, about laming/honorz, but nobody will be kicked for "dishonorable" tactics. I'm not talking about hiding with the capturable in Siege to prevent the game ever finishing out of spite, but rather the usual chatkill/saberdown killed/spamming/spawn killing and random accusations of cheating (or 'scripting'), etc that everyone whines about constantly in other games.
I actually have a cfg setup for Sabers Only Full Force play on FFA1, I just haven't had any real demand for it yet.Comosicus wrote:I admit I am not the most brilliant player and a lot of times it is frustrating. On my server, if you kill somebody, unless they are on your same team, it's legit. So don't worry about it. If somebody is getting pissed because you're not following THEIR honor code, that's their problem.Glimmervoid wrote:No it was some random person and I was checking I had not done some thing wrong.Kurgan wrote:Who... me, Lord Revan? Yeah. But it depends on what you mean by "cheating."Lord Revan wrote:Kurgan correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the server policy that everything except outright cheating is permited in most maps (if not all the maps).
Honestly I'm amazed at how many MB2 servers there are, considering they expect you to download something in the order of 90+ megs of pk3's before you can play it! From the sound of it they take Siege and make it more "movie-like" and "RPG like." That could be good or bad I guess. I am kinda disappointed they didn't throw their talents into making more quality Siege maps, instead of focusing on MB2 maps. MovieBattles for JK2 made a lot of sense because there was no class based system for Jedi Outcast, period. Then JA came along with Siege, and they still insisted on their system. Their choice of course, I just kinda wish there were more pure Siege maps.Ninja of the North wrote:Hey, some people who play JKA! Its good to know the game aint totally dead yet.
The honnor/anti laming servers can be really fun sometimes if you hang around with a bunch of people you know. Otherwise, its pretty lame. Have any of yall tried the Movie Battles 2 mod? Its mighty cool IMHO. It turns siege into a more counter strike game with classes etc. Check it out here
As a first suggestion, try and reduce the resolution. You might try and play at a resolution which your monitor doesn't support at the default refresh rate.DPDarkPrimus wrote:
EDIT: Er... JKA is forcing my monitor into standby.I'm guessing it doesn't like the refresh rate or something. Anyone had a similar problem, and a solution?
Okay, I'll just start adding text at random.Praxis wrote:Mess with the config files in the base folder.
