I guess Steve is feeling guilty with even fraternising even one bit with Shep with regard to Astaria....

Well, to be honest, i think a lot of us saw it coming.. only question is when.

Feh, Shep just wanted to score some megadeaths, and he figured he could get away with mass murder because most people despised Astaria. I really don't think anybody had any doubt he was just itching to use his awesome subs loaded with SS-26s.

People were playing Civilization with the Alpha Centauri "ending" in mind, Shep was playing DEFCON. ;)

Hay guys, I'm kind of dropping out. I mean, I'm not going "FUCK YOU ASSHOLES! HURRR!" leik Shep and leaving in a huff, but I guess I'm going on an indefinite hiatus. With Shep all dead and the world all relatively peaceful, and Shroomania not feeling the need to buy obscene kill-craps, I guess I don't really need to butt in and go shit around and crap. I'm not too big on the military mumbo jumbo or the tacticool spy games, and usually just post around making fun and silly stuff. But I'm Le Tired so I'm gonna take a break.

But I can't allow a Space Gap! Siege, Shroomania will buy those space thinggies of yours to establish a valid space defense. Uhh... and, yeah. Shroomania's still in the game but... I myself will be taking a break. Yeah.

EDIT: Welcome back, Steve.

Well, now that Shroomy is looking the other way, I'd be tempted to send Canissians over to do a "Panty Raid" in Shroomania, but I have a feeling all we'd find would be oiled-up man thongs, and no girliewear in sight.

In Shroomania, we hide our womens. :P

Or neglect to give them undergarments? For EASY ACCESS! :D

When I say deception I mean OOC stuff over IMs and everything.

Hrm.... let me get caught up to speed on a couple of things, then maybe I'll be posting IC.

Even the CSR would be satisfied with a government that is simply friendly to the SNC, and by "politics FTW" I meant covert funding and messing around with internal corporate politics without going into full-on armed insurgency mode.
Actually I think this could be intriguing. Without overt revolution it would be difficult for Wilkonia to react and not induce the ire of the world (thus endangering the MESS). Meanwhile the CSR and any other SNC instigators would have to be very cautious to avoid playing into Wilkonia's (and thus the MESS's) hands and forcing Byzantium into a rock/hard place decision. Moreover anything related to corporate tampering immediately plays up the possibility of temporary alliances with Wilkonian Intelligence services against the Tonkinese (and vice versa).

So long story short I think a subversive movement building towards slow shift in popular attitude could be played very interesting.

Total aside but Steve I have no issue with you resuming the game. There was the bullshit when Shep tried to retcon your Q without waiting for a consensus which would burn anybody so I don't blame you for your hiatus.

Total aside to Shroom, take a break man. Phongn hasn't posted in like a month but we still act as if the IRT is around and producing scary nukes so it wouldn't be too hard to pretend that USSR is still around even if you post but rarely.

Just assume that like the IRT, I'm still producing stuff even though I'm not posting. Except that instead of scary nukes (though i do has them), I'm making CRAAAAZY STUFF!

Can we collaborate on a Vinish Carrier?

This way every coast of the Goddamn Fucking Continent, name pending the handing of Lake County to the Commonwealth, has a prestige carrier.

Why do you need one? As it is, the carrier I sold San Dorado is copaid by Indophal as well.

What did you all decide for Astaria anyway? I would've spared two-thirds of the population with the Q intervention.

Also, did anyone actually decide to go for Czech's attempt at re-doing the Caymans/Gaymans over my background? (Both permit attempts to shake things up, but mine is perhaps even more friendly to that since I didn't give the Caymans immense offshore oil reserves or put a strong government in place. Of course, I also think Czech's proposal is a bit off given the idea of Tonkinese and Wilkonian influences not doing something about a violent revolution off their shores, or making his "Cayman Royal Family" so inept that they could be wiped out by a single suicidal revolutionary attack. Even the Nepalese Royal Family, as damaged as it was by the Crown Prince Dipendra's rampage on 1 June 2001, didn't have every single member of the family in one place and a convenient target for guerrilas - which they were also fighting at the time).

It died.

Norseman quit. He did it publically. So there's no reason to spare anyone in his nation, and more reason to stick with "genocidal war wipes out two players who don't want to play any more".

I'm probably guessing timber, ore, and local crops. I wonder if they can accept payment in surplus AK-47s...

Timber, Fish and Fuel for ships now, as well as valuable ores and rubber soon.

Err, what? Since when is that? Indhopal has precisely zero involvement in the buy of the Monkeylord insofar as I'm aware; it's a carrier exclusively for the Combined Navy. So Tanstaafl and San Dorado invested in it, no-one else.

PEZOOKS! When's Miranda Moonbeam due?
Well, she's class 2009 or 2010, so it's one of the first Soyuz flights later this year. The schedule would look something like this:

1. First flight, testing out the capsule, proving it works with meat inside. Svetlana Savitskaya (CSR) + Gus Grissom (San Dorado)

2. Second flight, first tethered EVA. Alan Shroompard + Miranda Moonbeam.

I could use some hilarity leading up to the flight, and then during the flight itself when Miranda does drugs on her spacewalk :D
