They've now revealed the image of the Laurel Lance costume as Black Canary:

Personally, I wish the jacket was separate from the costume, instead of part of it, but I still like it.

So, it happened:

After two and a half seasons, we finally got the boxing glove arrow.

Seems I'm the only one still watching this show on the board. We now have Vinnie Jones as gang boss Brick from the comics.

Actually, I just recently caught up as well :)
Enjoying the series so far though it's not quite up to s2's standard yet. Thea and Laurel are considerably less annoying, and that fight with Ra's Al Ghul was excellent stuff. I'm liking how they're getting bolder with the comic-booky aspects lately as well, gradually making it more and more larger than life.
I'm wondering how exactly Oliver was brought back to life now...

So a question to those who watch the show: How good is it? Because I might be getting into it but want to know what I am buying.

Pretty awesome on a good day. The first series does a lot of world-building and setting things up, but at times feels like a teen soap opera. The second series really starts to find its feet, Deathstroke is pretty brilliantly done, and there's an interesting side story told in flashbacks that provides lots of backstory. Series 3 so far is still pretty good.
TL;DR version - give it a whirl and you should enjoy it.

For the first half season, its essentially Batman Begins if he was Green Arrow, but gets more true to the comics as time goes on, meaning that we see Oliver form a superhero family, the show gets some much needed humor and becomes a rather fun once a week action movie. Its dissimilarity to reality has to be waived away as this still being a comic book universe.

Actually yeah, I'd forgotten how similiar to Begins it was at times. I really should give the early eps another watch-through.

I enjoyed the first season. Second season wasn't so good. Third season, not bad. I think it suffers from trying to introduce too many "heroes" so soon and takes away from Oliver.

So, Star City is having problems...

Honestly, Star City has really become Los Angeles during the early 1990s, and the comparison is rather apt. I would love if we had an episode of nothing but the Star City Council deliberating on how the hell they can fix the mess that is the Glades.

So, this week was "Let's see if we can do Gangs of New York" on a DC superhero show. Honestly, it was a lot of fun, and it was good to see Sin and Wildcat in action with the team.

Uprising was pretty good. Roy and Lance's scene together was priceless
Merlyn's character arc is going to interesting places, but it's a pity Felicity seems to have inherited the 'overly emotional blubbering female' role Laurel was stuck in last season. It's unfortunate as she's usually friggin' adorable and a strong character all-round, we'll see if it gets better. The fight felt like a miniature version of the series 2 finale with the League vs Deathstroke's goons, but still enjoyable. I hope Brick gets another go around. Vinnie Jones is strangely charasmatic in his own way.

Well, the guy was spared by Malcolm, so Brick isn't like Count Vertigo, in that they constantly have to recast him due to Arrow constantly killing whoever holds the title.

And yeah, it was similar to the season 2 finale, only this one was more fitting with the title as the entirety of the Glades fought the criminals.

I'm wondering, since they've made it a recurring plotline this season, how the city's leadership is going to handle things. I would love for them to bring in the Oliver Queen as Mayor plotline from the comics.

From what I remember, there's only been one other Count Vertigo before the older guy. And Oliver's been keeping his killboner in fairly good check as of late, so we'll see how long he stays around for :P

There was definitely a theme of long-held secrets being revealed in Canaries. Oliver finally telling Thea he's the Arrow - and her accepting it in a really rather moving scene - and Laurel at last telling Lance know Sara was dead - in another emotionally charged moment.
Sara's odd mouth movements continue to annoy me. Everytime she speaks she does some wierd pouty shit. Can't say I missed her much.
Next week, DEATHSTROKE'S BACK, BABY!!
Let's hope he's gotten over most of the mirakookoo and takes the first step to becoming Deathstroke proper.

Wow. Did not see that twist coming.
Spoiler
Ra Al Ghul wants Oliver to replace him. It seems that in the DC television verse Ra's is long lived, but not immortal.

Spoiler
At one time Ras Al Ghul wanted Batman to be his replacement, or at least his backup. I think that at times there is some uncertainty about whether the Lazarus Pit will always work and/or if he'll stay bonkers after coming out of it. So the TV version could still be 2 thousand years old and just covering his bases.

Just watched The Return and Nanda Parbut(sp?) back to back. I feel these are the strongest eps of series 3 so far, the second one especially. Lots going on, and they still found time for the lighter moments with Felicity and Palmer -who make a charming couple, indeed :)
Yeah, the ATOM suit is an Iron Man knockoff, but it looks freaking awesome, especially for a TV budget.
And it was deeply satisfying to see Merlyn shit his knickers in front of the Demons' Head, who retains a deeply threatening air despite his Australian accent - a feat once spoken of only in legend.

Spoiler
I expect complaints from Batman about Green Arrow taking his place. Honestly though, I can imagine Oliver taking the army and doing a lot of good with it if he took the offer.
Now, I had a pet theory last year that Thea, seeing as how she's been trained by Malcolm, and was/is dating Roy, will eventually become Chesire, master assassin. I think it's still possible, and would like to see it done.

That would be pretty cool to see, like Summer Glau's regrettably short-lived Ravager last series.
Also, forgot to mention this - I love Oliver's hi-tech bow he uses when he and Diggle were approaching Ra's' fortress. I wish to see more of this absurd technology :D

So, anyone have any guesses on how this season is going to go? Everyone is exposed to the public as what they are, Roy Harper has been arrested as the Arrow, and Ra's Al Ghul AND Merlyn are both in the shadows, plotting.

Ok so

1. those doctors propose treating a blood clot (which Ray Palmer develops) by suggesting a craniotomy?

WTF. Have these doctors not heard of anticoagulation or thrombolysis. :D :D :D Granted not as good as Ray's nanotech but...

2. How the hell can Lance get a warrant for Oliver based on a tip from some guy from the shadows?

Well I guess the US arrests terrorist suspects and throw in the Gitmo based on tips from some random guys who turn out to just hate the guy they arrested.. so ok, not so far fetched.

3. How dumb is Oliver to turn himself in? Its like he thinks he is Jesus or something.

Its situations like this why I wonder why he doesn't ask Barry for help.

The mayor has just been assassinated with multiple eye witness stating the assassin was the Arrow. Oliver Queen was already implicated once as being the Arrow, not that hard to get a judge on your side to get a second run at your number one (and number only) suspect.

Flash crossover time paradox solve? Could happen.

P.S. I should note that the last scene with Cpt. Lance and Oliver in the back of the van was the highlight of the season (hell maybe even series) for me. Well done for that.
