Pfffft. Statistics! I have no use for your statistics! Magic will defeat the Lakers, I will be saddened, and then I will stop caring about basketball until either next year's playoffs or the next time I watch Space Jam.

Oh shit are we talkin' Celtics Lakers? because I will watch that throw down.

I didn't even know Orlando had a team. Who is on it?

Howard and Carter as far as "stars" go, rest of the team is pretty much same as in last year's Finals, except Turkoglu was traded for Carter.

An NBA Finals that isn't Celtics Lakers is like kissing your sister. Yeah, the parts are all there, but it's just... wrong.

If they both make it to the Finals, that would be only the second time in the last 20 years ...

This is a board full of nerds... how many actually watch sports?

Me, I don't watch basketball, so I can't comment. Last time I paid attention was in the mid-90's and then I just got fed up with referee favoritism and the NBA blatantly sucking Michael Jordan's cock.

I've been kinda following the thread but i'm more interested in the NFL and NHL threads.

NBA is not really my bag but the LAkers are playing well and that compels me to follow it more since I used to be a big fan a long time ago. I think i'll get more entertainment out of the NBA when LeBron James leaves the Cavs and then I get to make fun of Dark Flame for a while. :D

I've been locked in a dark room since.... it.... happened. Fuck. And damn you, Fanboy. I don't even have a retort for that. I don't have a fucking clue what's going on in that guy's head.

Well weren't you the one who was so sure he was staying just a couple of weeks ago?

EDIT:

Ah yes, that first week of May, but not on this particular board.

In the same thread from a different board I mentioned previously I do believe.

Colin Cowherd made a good point about how Orland could bring in Lebron and make it to the finals every year for the next decade. Won't happen but if I owned the MAgic and had Dwight Howard already i'd totally do it.

Orlando just up and quit that game. Pathetic.
And it looks like Rondo is growing into being the premier point guard in the league. Amazing.

If that happens I'll go into a permanent BSOD mode as a Magic fan, as I've already determined that if LeBron abandons Cleveland I don't want him to have a single ring.

This. I still think he's going to stay, but his play in the last few games didn't look like the Lebron that we all have seen. He didn't care about basketball, he didn't care about Cleveland, he didn't care about winning.

Also, fuck Quentin Richardson for awakening the 2009-2010 Boston Celtics. That dumbass just fucked his own team, Cleveland, Orlando, and quite possibly the Lakers. Way to go piss off the old geezers and make them play like they're all 10 years younger. Damn, they absolutely demolished Orlando last night.

Phoenix Suns vs Los Angeles Lakers 118:109 (1:2)

It doesn't look good for the Suns as the Lakers have lost only one best-of-seven playoff series in franchise history after taking a 2-0 lead, winning the other 41. Though, its a start.

Give the Celtics credit. They pulled a masterful gamble: accumulate a big record (23-5) then phone in the rest of the year (27-27) so they could rest up their aging players, reduce the likelihood of severe injuries, and be ready for the post-season. And so far it's worked marvelously.

Damn, I was hoping for a Celtics sweep. But I guess it was inevitable that the Magic get one. Last game they played miserably. In any case, it is still a Celtics series (unless the Magic pull a stunt that has never happened in the history of the NBA ...)
