I figured that most would of course have to be original ones. I found the 2nd thread a bit after my previous post, and have started reading Path to Salvation (disillusioned Fed captain's POV on Anatomy of War events), which isn't listed in the recommended reading order but seemed like an easy (and not too long) 2nd step.

I noticed that there was a certain Ryan Sheppard that I recognized as a Stargate reference - like I said, I haven't watched the oldschool scifi like Trek or B5, but I have seen all of SG-1 and SGA, some of SGU... and all of the new BSG too, but that's not the point now.

I was hoping for at least some listing of the most common universe designates, with a short description, eg. ST-3: Star Trek canon until interuniversal contact at stardate (or year) xxxxx. But what are the SE-1 and PA-6 universes (first ones with IU contact), and I can't claim to have recognized from just AoW which one is the Stargate verse. As a recent arrival yourself, I think you might agree that even a short list of descriptions like this would be helpful to newcomers to the TGG scene.

Forgot to list it on the SDN table of links, I think, because it was only posted on SB.

Squadron Leader Ryan Sheppard isn't a Stargate reference. He's an insert character for one of SDN's most famous (or notorious in the eyes of some) members, MKSheppard. Hence why he pilots a bomber called the Atomic Dolphin and gets to nuke Cardassians.

There are listings elsewhere. The SE-1 and PA-6 universes are those of my own creation. And you wouldn't see the SGverse in this story because they've not had contact with it yet.

I thought I'd posted this once, but might as well do it now (will also probably post to the table of links thread). This is the list of currently enunciated universes in TGG and some slight description as to what they are, particularly if they represent an ATL:

ST-3 - Trek
EM-5 - B5
MWB-32 - BTech
CON-5 - "Nexus" universe, WWI PoD Brits force Dardanelles, Churchill is PM in 1938, no Munich, Wehrmacht coups Hitler
FHI-8 - "Dark Universe", Eurofascists, Texas, LoEA, ADN universe
LRC-19 - No real material decided yet, ADN universe
AR-12 - "French have Balls" universe, ADN universe
HE-1 - 22nd Century ADN capitol universe, basis for AST calendar
SE-1 - Redone Scorched Earth universe, ADN universe
PA-6 - Ameriwank universe, ADN universe
DN-9 - ID4-likeverse, ADN universe
HM-1 - Dale's home universe - AEC case, ADN universe
AGC-1 - WW1 PoD, Germany goes East.
WR-22 - Domainverse, based upon Susan Wright's "Slave Trade" verse but with some alterations (IIRC, we've had multiple discussions on this since first proposed, and at times the decision was to basically make it original stuff, though as of late the proposal is to go with the Wright material and do a more light-hearted "adventure" story in the setting)
GS-42 - Has Alien race called Dorei, one of the initial entry points of Zohan clans in ADN, ADN universe
ML-12 - Triplets' home universe, ADN universe
VCG-34 - Stronghold/Kalderi/Erud universe, ADN Colonies
VS-5 - Taloran Home Universe
Habsburg-1/HAB-1 - HRE Home Universe
GA-18 - UC Gundam, ADN Colonies
CMR-8 - S:AAB
IDM-38 - Starcruiser Shenandoah
FB-16 - Wing Commander
PNG-3 - Planetes
IPR-45 - Viking NAverse
WLP-23 - Napoleonverse
RS-12 - Hungaro-Byzantiumverse
SRC-19 - Stargate

Possible:
KCS-13 - Serenityverse (Possible - Marina wanted to do a story at one point, she may have changed her mind)
PTE-9 - Poul Anderson Terran Empire, as proposed by David Falkyn from SB.com (he wrote a contact story years ago but it went unposted IIRC, the status is up in the air for now)
MCP-8 - Proposed alt-timeline "Poland"-altverse, Lescek the White survives assassination attempt

Note that a number of other universes are in the ADN, but there's no contact with Earth for various reasons (mostly involving the local Earth's tech level). The ADN generally has some form of presence in all of these universes, save the HRE and Taloran Home universes, but it varies from having multiple member nations to just one or two or just colonies.

Note that this is still an incomplete list. There are something like 60 identified, dwelt-in universes as of the events of this story, we have not quantified them all (Also note that the Stargate universe was hands-off until the events of "One Small Step", which happen 19 years in the future of this story).

Unless one of us gets a good idea I don't think we'll have more "established" universes show up in TGG. One universe not yet listed for lack of designation is the Otreran universe, being set up by a new contributor, which comes into contact in the 2170s.

Shows what I know. Same surname, same rank, both pilots, and I falsely remembered that the actors first name would've been Ryan. Seen MKSheppard around of course.

Thanks for the list, although I have to ask what "ID4-like" means, since there was no description for ID4.

ID4 = Independence Day. A mid 90's remake of War of the Worlds. in TGG, the aliens were defeated with the massed use of nuclear weapons.

So basically, the Independence day Movieverse.

Generally, though instead of the weird and crazy elements of ID4 the invasion was dealt with by judicious use of atomic weapons.

Can't wait for a sequel for "The Devil to Pay"

It's not remotely close to being done, but Segment 2 was started:
"Hold At All Costs"

Thank you very much...
SE-1 - Redone Scorched Earth universe, ADN universe
"Scorched Earth?"

KCS-13 - Serenityverse (Possible - Marina wanted to do a story at one point, she may have changed her mind)

By contrast, the HRE and Taloran home universes host huge single-universe empires, large enough to be on roughly equal military terms to the ADN. The ADN is a new multiversal power dominated by "younger" timelines, in which interstellar colonization from Earth had only been proceeding for a few centuries before first contact with the multiverse at large. Whereas the Habsburgs and Talorans have been in space for roughly a thousand years, so they control far more territory than any one ADN member state.
