He offers the oil of Baerne Island, and the right to it's bases in the Great Central Sea (or whatever it's called), as well as what small help the Baernish folk might offer in any other concerns relevant to the health and well being of Crossroadia.

Democratic Socialist Oceanic Republic

DSOR is a small island province in the North Eastern part of the world that recently broke away from a larger country. It has one small but modern city, Bartix, which serves as the capital and has most of the country's 250,000 first world population. Politically, it is somewhat similar to Canada, but with a very strong executive branch. It has a large police force, but no established army. The island has good source of Uranium and nearly all of it's electricity is from nuclear sources.

Due to its lack of an army, the small nation's main focus is to enter into some kind of military alliance for protection.

The FUNGAL AXIS happily accepts New Gottland as a new member nation! The FUNGAL AXIS also extends an offer at membership to the Sovereign Duchy of Baerne.

Also, Shroomanian trading companies have expressed interest in the II Republic's new Fast Commerce Ships.

The Mushroom Military is also interested in the II Republic's proposed sea-and-air defense network for the LUN involving their new Zorian Advanced Anti-Shipping Missiles. A military technology exchange would be mutually beneficial for the allied nations in the FUNGAL AXIS and the LUN as Shroomania is also willing to export the ABM railgun (and Zablanian laser) technologies currently in development.

The LUN and the FUNGAL AXIS share the same ideals and beliefs to a commitment for a more peaceful and stable world, and such a deal would bolster both allies' abilities to defend themselves and one another from outside aggression.

OPERATION SYNDROMIAN STRIKE



As heavy rioting breaks out in the AXIS-partition zone of Syndromia, Shroomanian peacekeepers prepare to hold their ground and pacify the dissidents.



However, despite the efforts of Shroomanian peacekeepers, the mobs of Syndromian rioters turned violent and resorted to improvised weaponry - setting cars and buildings ablaze.



In the aftermath, the Syndromians who did not join in the violence woke up to find their cities only further ravaged by destruction. Casualties number in the high dozens...

Despite the best efforts of the interim Syndromian government and foreign peacekeepers, reconstruction efforts have been plagued by setbacks as anarchists and insurgents do battle against the occupation forces.



The Sovereignty of Shroomania has released a statement, saying that it will continue to hold the anarchist leader Standford Brant until he is tried in court, and that the Mushroom Military will continue its anti-insurgency operations.



Nonetheless, despite the violence, the rebuilding process continues...

Description:

The Republic of Mangka is an island nation consisting of a main urban center, Wanhua City and 20 counties. The city lays next to Clearwater Bay, which is a massive trading harbor where numerous cargo is transported in and out of the island. Due to the demand, a new trading port is in the process of being established in the southern part of the island known as "Shingang".

Due to previous policy of the government, other parts of the island besides Wanhua are not so urbanized, and consists of high mountains or agricultural fields. Aborginal tribes inhabit in the mountains and the tribesmen form a large portion of the nation's military. Cooperative exercises with other nations are often held in the mountains.

The massively crowded (30% of the island's population) Wanhua City is also the home to various Triad societies. These societies are currently in a balance of power and are eager to expand to foreign nations. Governmental officials and representatives are highly connected and sometimes complicated reasons are the cause of the deaths of politicians or other crime activity. Nonetheless, people have accepted the fact that the Triads actually maintain a noticable portion of a stable society.

Rumor is that the government is developing biological weapons including those focused on bioterrorism. There are also rumors that the government is funding international activity of the Triads.

Zablania ships off a platoon of it's lasergun armed warriors to help quell the rioting. If Syndromia's troops are not armed with laserguns I suggest they do so immediately.

The Red Technocracy is alerted at the fact biological weapons are developed by the Republic of Mangka and relays this information to fellow OMSK pact members for threat assessment on the joint command commitee conference.

His Majesty King Zor-I, Leader Protector and Defender of the Sovereign Kingdom of Zoria and Lord Protector of the Commonwealth formally condems the Republic of Mangka for its development of biological weaponry, as such, a Tariff on $250 per metric tonne of goods on all imports has been established against all Mangkanian goods. The Kingdom of Tiriola and the League of Extraordinary Gentleman Nations hails the new nations of New Gottland, Sovereign Duchy of Baerne and Democratic Socialist Oceanic Republic and invite them to join the LEGN. The same offer made to the Republic of Vulpesia is still standing, also.

His Majesty's government shares the Red Technocracy's concern about the Republic of Mangka's development of biological weapons and calls for cancellation of such plans. His Majesty's represantive, Minister of Foreign Affairs Baldrick Kanerva, has called for emergency session of both the LUN and the LEGN to discuss our options; the Minister has also expressed the wish that the Fungal Axis would voice an official condemnation of this nefarious doing. Minister of Defense, Sir Brian "Blessed" Melchett, has proposed to pass a conscription act, but the Parliament is as of yet unwilling take such an action when our peacekeeping forces are still tied in Syndromia and our naval assets are still minimal. The King has not commented.

In other news: Minister of Commerce and Trade, Lord Moist von Wetlip, steps down after a recent scandal concerning him, his wife, and a rather eccentric dominatrix and her dog. Prime Minister Manfred Jr. Kwak is currently looking for replacement.

The Syndromian Seas are a crucial trade route that connects the Northern Hemisphere nations to the Southern Hemisphere nations and thus many commercial ships that pass by are in danger of wanton piracy - and though the combined Allied forces have a presence in those waters, the archipelagos of Syndromia provide the pirates with many places to hide.

The constant monitoring of the Syndromian Seas is vital to not only the FUNGAL AXIS (in its trade with more distant members) but also to groups such as the LUN.

The government of Shroomania, along with the country's corporations, are currently undertaking projects to develop the outlying island chains and archipelagos of the nation. It seems like the FUNGAL AXIS and the LUN have some dual-member nations, making both organizations kind of closely interrelated.

Ah. I just thought the L.U.N. stands for unaligned, mirroring the NAM in the real world - meaning LUN members do not enter other pacts. I will await clarification from LUN as to how the treaty status of Vanaheim should be displayed on the map.
