Yes, there really needed to be a limit on how often one could cast a "Restore Sanity" spell. Still, doesn't take away from it being a great game, even if most people never did see the special ending for having beaten all 3 paths.

If you're into tactical RPG's, I'd strongly suggest Fire Emblem. It's probably not the strongest game in the franchise, but it's certainly worthwhile.

My personal must-have list:

You need these

RE4
Wind Waker
Eternal Darkness
Super Smash Brothers Melee
Freedom Fighters (vastly underrated alt-history squad shooter)

You'll want these

Metal Arms (best shooter on the system)
Super Mario Sunshine
Rogue Squadron II (III fucked with the land missions)
Metroid Prime/ Prime Echoes
Viewtiful Joe

I have to fourth/sixth/whatever Tales of Symphonia. It's kind of a cross between a tradtional console RPG and a fighting game. Quality story and voice acting, too. The random and hidden chats are also cool.

Batallion Wars is also seconded. It's fun, but only Single-player. BWII is supposed to fix that, though.

Also, someone mentioned Metal Arms: Glitch in the System. This was definitely fun, but also was availible for the PS2 and Xbox as well.

Rare's genius has been notably absent since the N64.

Assault was made by a team that have provided me more entertainment than Rare, but unfortunately wasn't made to their strength.

Remember, Metroid Prime. Not Prime 2! Get 1 first, it's IMHO the better of the two and the first one you want to play, plus much cheaper. And my favorite single-player game of this console generation.

Yeah, no kidding. You spend too much time in Echoes just sitting around waiting for your health to regen because oops, the fucking air is acid.

I'd definately get the original and move from there.

What the hell kinda game are you playing? 'Cause it sure ain't Smash Bros. Perhaps one of the Smash Bros. Minigames, but that's a stretch. The closest thing to a true platformer on that game is one of the single player modes. Everything else is straight up fighting.

I think DP summed it up nicely. :P
Pfft. The whole point of the game is to stay on the platforms longer than everyone else. Can't do that without jumping. But by my own admission, I'm using a very generous definition of platforming, so I'll shut up now.

I'll definitely second F-Zero GX. The way Amusement Vision implemented side attacks isn't as convenient as in F-Zero X, but other than that it's a very good game.

I did. (admittedly I started with the PS2 version, which has a shitty framerate)

However, if you already have the Xbox version, don't get the GC one. The Xbox version is the best, because whilst there's not a great deal of graphical difference, it has Dolby Digital 5.1
