Appearance: Mid-40s, bookish looking fellow, generally wears a crinkled and creased old brown suit.
Position in Vampire society: High ranked amongst the Brujah of the city, but many of the younger Brujah lack respect for him as he sticks to the old ways of knowledge and learning. Due to his position and age he is one of THE authorities on Vampire lore in the area (continental US) and as such holds an important position in the minds of the other clans. He is frequently courted by the Tremere who seek to learn more from him and has an established friendship with a wandering Malkav with whom he shares insights when they meet (Again, I'll leave it up to you, Kelly, as to what to do with this).
Biography: Born in 1593 in London, England, Oswald was born into an upper class family with strong connections to the banking trade. On his 14th birthday he was sent to Florence with his father in order to further learn the banking trade from the greatest in Europe. While there he was placed in tutelage with a scholar who was a master of the old classical works. Spending many hours a day learning from this old master he quickly became more and more interested in the ancient texts. After a year he became fluent in the ancient languages and was accepted into the University at Florence. His father returned to England disappointed that his son was not a banker, but proud that he was doing something academic.
After several years the old master disappeared and was not heard of again. Oswald took his place at the University and continued to teach. Slowly he became aware of quirks in the old masters journals and collections. Over many years he uncovered a vast wealth of material on vampire lore buried within the professors collections. Poring over this material he gained a vast knowledge of the history of the vampire race and became intrigued as to its customs.
His curiousity aroused the interest of the Brujah within the University, who gained permission from the Prince of the city for the embrace. In 1631 he was embraced by Giovanni Rabillia, a fellow scholar a the University, though one specialising in biology and physiology.
For the next 200 years the small group of Brujah toured Europe's centres of learning, taking their precious collections with them as they moved from city to city as their cover faded. Eventually the small coterie broke up as new theories caused "academic conflicts" between them. Finding his way to the new lands of North America Oswald settled in Boston, working in the university there for a period of time he met a Malkav with whom he developed a friendship. Meeting every few years they would exchange tales of their travels.
In 1992 the Malkav told him of a professor in New Orleans who had displayed an amazing knowledge of the Classics and who was also on their deathbed. Sensing an opportunity Oswald went to New Orleans and was quickly hired by the University. Moving his enormous collection of documents and manuscripts to the new University he quickly gained a reputation as a night owl and a book worm. Rarely lecturing and constantly deep within the archives he has lived within the University for the past 10 years without suspicion.
Within the city he is well respected, due to both his age and knowledge. Though many of the younger Brujah disrespect the old ways Oswald does his best to uphold them.

BACKGROUND:

Born in Leningrad, Soviet Union, Anton Menschikoff grew up into adulthood learning all about the wonders of Marxism and Leninism. As the old communist system began to fell apart in the early nineties, he was just starting his economy studies at the Moscow University. However, the studies at the university did not eventually go as he had planned. Thus, when an old army friend contacted him and asked if he'd like to join him in a profitable business, Anton agreed immediately and left the university. He thought he had nothing to lose.

It did not take much time to realize that the business in which his friend was involved in was not legitimate. It was about cars - western cars to be exact, most of them German-made - and driving them from Finland to St. Petersburg, where they were picked up by shady-looking underworld types. In return he got a thick pile of US dollars to keep his mouth shut.

Unlike his business partner, Anton was not satisfied. He wanted to achieve more. Using the money he had earned, he started a small IT company from a scratch. This time business was perfectly legitimate, although he had to occasionally go around the rules. Within a relatively short time he was on his way of becoming one the wealthiest young entrepreneurs in St. Petersburg. He ruthlessly expanded his business, played with the stocks and eliminated the competition - not by violence (he dreaded the mafia), but manipulation. Although he was unaware of it at the moment, someone who did not belong to the world of living was closely following his actions.


Anton spent his weekends under the pulsating lights of nightclubs, dancing to the beat of the latest Eurohit and desperately attempting to gain interest from members of the opposite sex. One evening, after having consumed a bit too many glasses of Vodka, he got into a brawl with another customer at one of his favourite clubs. His nose broken and bleeding, he quickly left the club. ‘At least the other guy will not be feeling so good in the next morning with a broken rib,’ he thought.

As he was walking down the Nevski Prospekt, he got the nervous feeling that he was being followed. Suddenly, his vision blacked out accompanied by a sharp pain on the back of his skull. He woke up on a dark alley, surrounded by three burly men who obviously had no good intentions. Anton recognized one of them as the friend of the guy he had met at club. When Anton had barely got back to his feet, the men attacked him with furious rage. He had never felt so much pain in his life. He did his best to block the attacks, but was overwhelmed. Before eternal darkness consumed Anton Menschikoff, he hoped that it all would end soon.


Sergei Ivanovits, a Ventrue who had been a noble-born aristocrat in the times of the Imperial Russia, embraced the dead Anton and brought him back to life as an undead vampire. Ivanovits had been keeping a lose eye on Anton for some time since his recent rise to the Russian elite, thinking him as potential candidate. At first Anton had trouble with coming to the terms what he had become, but gradually he even began to like it. The following years he spent under the watchful eye of his sire, being trained in the ways of the Ventrue clan. Eventually he began to strengthen his position in the Ventrue society, despite the prejudice, which came from the unusual circumstances of his embracement.

When the brutal assasination of a local Primogen was linked to an Assamite, who had been earlier in a close contact with Anton's sire, the situation changed suddenly. Anton had never thought that Ivanovits (who denied any claims that he had had any part in the assasination) was an angel, but this was still a big surprise for him.

To avoid potential problems which might result from his relationship to Ivanovits, Anton quietly moved to United States, a country full of endless possibilities where he could establish his own domain . . .



Appearance:

Anton has a goatee and a dark brown hair that he usually keeps cut short. Despite his Russian roots, he looks more Germanic than Slavic. He is approximately 170 cm tall and of medium build. At the time of his embracement he was thirty years old. Anton likes to wardrobe himself in stylish, yet practical clothes.

Did you get the character I PMed you? Am I way off to left field with that? I really know very little about what I'm doing with it. Is there any hope at all of getting into the story or is it too full as it is?

Embraced almost by mistake, his sire was weak with lack of blood near frenzy, when a Lone Priest made his way back to his quarters from the Church Libary. Young, devout, Pierce saw the near dead Kindred before him, who could no longer afford to even support his obfuscate, and felt no fear. He had read about these Kindred, and knew well what they where, but still he approached and offered his aid, but Pierce's sire took too much, and killed Pierce. As his Frenzy ended the Nosferatu looked down upon Pierce's body and felt remorse, this Mortal Child of Seth had apporached him, knowing what he was, and offered to himself, and he had repayed the kine with Death. On Impulse he embraced Pierce to save him from Death, instantly he regreted it, had he not damned the Priest. he fled.

Alone and afraid Pierce wandered the Streets those first fews days, unknowing of what he now was, his world shattered, and the day, the Church denied him. He was amoung the Damned and their was nothing he could do. For 100 Years this belief dominated Pierce he took upon himself a new name, a new identityhe was a monster, he was as damned as he belived himself, then it came that perfect moment, that epithiny. He awoke as if from a dream, and looked at his latest meal, a young Priest much like himself, alone in his quarter's the Holy Bible open before him, and as Pierce read the words it was a strange moment for him...

He was not Damned, except by his own actions, although it may take him a thousand times a thousand years he could regain his place, his former status. It was a brave change, but it was born wrong, it was not born from true repentence, but from greed and pride. It led to Pierce's second break down, as he now views thos moments of his life. Shutting away the parts of him that disgusted him he hid from them, never overcoming the fear and hatered, it boiled up, and Pierce's Alter Ego was born. The person he was doing his first 100 years but worse, struggling for two hundred and fiftenn years with this affliction he studied.

Then one day he vanished, a note was found in the Warren, summed up it read. 'I need to be alone for a while, be back one day' Pierce was not seen for fifty years, when he returned he had changed. Gone was the affliction of the other Personality, only Pierce remained. Gone also was the pride, Pierce had regained his footing, asked about where he had been he would not answer except to say studying.

In fact Pierce had been doing what he has always done, and sought answer's in the past of Kindred Society and he thinks he has found, or is drawing close to them. He is a Camerlia Heretic in he belives in Gehenna, and Golconda. He belives the Book of Nod is the true recounting of Caine's early life, and seeks clues to the Angel's Promise in it's pages.

I suddenly feel like joining this Chronicle...

History:

Colin was born in 1974 in the city of Pittsburg in Pennsylvania. His father was in the military as a pilot and as such Colin was around the military all the time. When Colin was 10 his family was moved down to New Orleans, Colin did not adjust very well. As soon as he graduated from High School he joined the military like his father did, and was moved back to Albany. Early on Colin had shown a nack for blowing stuff up so he was almost immediately put on the demolitions team. In 1997 one of Colin's love interests got a little feisty on him and he didn't know what was going on until it was all over.

When Colin woke up he discovered that he had been turned into a vampire. He adjusted extremely well to this, it only took him a week to get used to it. Luckily for Colin, unlike many Caitiff, Colin's sire had been a Caitiff herself, and a curious Prince had wondered what may happen if a second generation (of sorts) Caitiff would be like. Unfortuantely, 1 year after his creation his Sire was killed by the same Prince and Colin was forced to run, back to New Orleans.

For he past four years Colin has been working hard to make a name for himself and has become the leader of the Caitiff or as much of a leader as one can, or dare, become, and he has also become the man to talk to when someone wants something blown up with no possible connections being made. Colin has made many allies, and no doubt just as many enemies.

Maximillian Roivas was born in Boston, the son of middle-class parents. When he was 3, they moved to Providence, RI. He grew up in Providence and loved his home. As time passed, Max became more aware of the anti-British feelings in the Colonies, and joined them. One of his best friends in the Sons of Liberty was an older man by the name of Robert Portsmith. Portsmith guided the younger man through several tense years of British-Colonial standoffs, and they were together when the Revolution began.

Many people know the basics of the Revolution. Few know that vampires fought on both sides. One night in 1778, while delivering massages for General Horatio Gates, Roivas and Portsmith had the bad luck to run into a Loyalist vampire, a Ventrue. Portsmith tore into the other vampire, while Roivas stood, astounded. When the fight was over, Portsmith asked the young man if he would like to continue the Revolution…as a vampire. The young patriot accepted whole-heartedly. Roivas continued to fight for the Colonies as a vampire, always with Portsmith at his side. They made it through the long nights with the older man telling Roivas stories of the Toreador.

The Revolution ended, but both Roivas and Portsmith stayed in the army, helping to train new recruits, knowing that their beloved country would need them in times of war. 1812 rolled around, and their beliefs were confirmed when the US again fell into war with the British. One night, the two were speaking of the Toreadors when General Andrew Jackson confronted them. Far from being frightened, "Old Hickory" took it upon himself to have the two of them create a team of vampires, which would act independently of the main army. Soon, a group of seven was assembled. Portsmith shocked them by declaring that one's clan did not matter. If it was British, kill it, be it a human, vampire, or animal. It would be the first time vampires truly went to war with vampires alongside humans.

Some historians believe that the Battle of New Orleans was a useless bloodbath, as it came two weeks after the Treaty of Ghent, which ended the War of 1812. It was a stunning, massive victory for the forces of the United States. For Roivas, it was a bloodstained day that would be forever etched in his mind. On that day in 1814, his sire, Robert Portsmith, died at the hands of a British vampire. Roivas, driven to fury, went on a killing streak behind the lines of battle.

The war ended, and Roivas was handed a fair surprise. He had been the beneficiary of Portsmith's will, and was now a very rich man, the owner of an estate and several plantations in Rhode Island. New Orleans struck him as a good place to live, so he had a smaller estate built there, as well.

Years passed, and the US began to mature. Despite his wealth, which only expanded due to careful investments and canny business dealings, Roivas utterly refused to stay at home when his country was threatened. He has fought in every war since the American Revolution, all the way up to Desert Storm. His existence, and the existence of his strike team friends, is a carefully buried secret, after all, one cannot reminisce about the Civil War while standing on the plains of Kuwait! Of the original seven, three remain, including Roivas. He keeps in touch with his two closest friends, and they are always there to help each other.

Appearance: Maximillian's parents would probably not recognize him if they ran into him today. He has long brown hair, often tied in a ponytail, and a well-trimmed moustache and goatee. His brown eyes are often covered by sunglasses, and his skin has roughened after all its years of war. He is of average height and weight, and quite muscular. He is often seen wearing normal clothes, rather than what he considers to be "the hangman's noose" (a tie and collared shirt).

Fighting style: Max prefers to hit hard, hit fast, and hit often. He is not one for veiled threats, although he enjoys baiting people with somewhat off-color humor. He is not particularly fast or agile, but he is extremely rugged, and will take a lot of hits before going down. His favorite weapon is a 'lucky' commando knife from Vietnam, which he carries at all times.

Personality: Like most Toreadors, Max loves music, both making it, and listening to it. His library at home contains literally hundreds of thousands of hours of music, all the way across the spectrum, from Beethoven to Rammstein to Enya to Santana. Unlike most upper-class vampires, he often shuns the mansions and styles of the rich, preferring to live as just a normal guy when outside his home. He is humorous, boisterous, often described as 'goofy', and is nearly always wearing a grin. "If there's one thing I've learned in my 252 years, it's that life's too short to be serious," he will tell incredulous Toreadors and Ventrues. Despite his refusal to take anything seriously, he transforms into an intelligent, straight-minded soldier when the need arises. Romance is not especially high on his list.

Description - Around 5'10", black medium length hair and a black goatee. Commonly wears dark shirt and trousers complemented by a black over coat and hat. Right hand side of face is covered in burn scars from holy water.

Background - Armand was once a normal human. A student at Leeds university, he had friends and a future. That all changed. One night after taking his girl friend home the cinema he took a short cut down an alley. It was a fatal mistake.
Armand awoke alone, aware that something had changed. He was weak. He waited in the alley for the next person to come along. He intended to ask their aid but instead he found himself with an unholy thirst for blood. After draining the person he was filled with a new strengh, but he couldn't believe what he had just done, instead thinking it was a nightmare. But try as he might he couldn't wake up. He came to terms with it after almost dieing at daybreak. Ashamed at what he was but knowing what he had to do to survive, he vowed that he would never drink from an innocent person again. Also knowing that he couldn't stay where everyone knew him he fled, at first to London and later to America. In AMerica he found a new profession that would suit his needs: Bounty Hunting, the perfect way to feed and make a "living" at the same time. He origionally worked in New York, but he soon found out there was more to vampires than just blood sucking. Having never known of the politics in the vampire world he didn't know that his kind was reviled and hated. Driven out of NYC after killing a young Brujah, he made his way to Washington. There he met other Caitiffs and learned that he was not alone in his struggle. He also learned basic skills in the areas of Celerity and potence, further enhancing his bounty hunting skills. After being driven out of Washington he made his way to New Orleans, ater hearing that Caitiffs were tolerated more there.

( I haven't actually played the game, but took Kelly's advice of reading the suggested website. I therefor know jack sh*t about the stats system so i haven't included any stats here. If anyone can lend some suggestions i'd be grateful.)

I used Kelly's template and asked for help when I needed it. Trust me, get a feel for your character in your mind, flesh him out, and stats will come smoothly.
