"It appears to be a standard armored turret of the Aratech style, with
an armored commander's cupola, but you'd need some sort of cutting
tool to get through the hatch as I think it would be SOP to have it closed
and dogged against infiltrators."

"And yes, the laser turret is accessible from the base itself, through a
lift shaft in the upper tunnels of the base."

"Fucknuts... I was going to go with cutting our way in from the access door. The taking the tower and killing their control tower... But that is so sane it would never work"

"May I suggest looking at the cliff face? You would be able to gain access
to the series of service tunnels it appears they dug so they could perform
maintenance on the short range tracking sensors, and if you packed some
mountaineering equipment, you could climb up to the blast door itself and
plant explosives to ensure that no one escapes in less than 15 minutes."

"We are better of getting in using one of the bunkers. If we are quick and quiet, we can sweep into the command center and living spaces, killing most of the off duty personnel. We're outnumbered about 8 to 1, bad odds for the rebels. If we contorl the command center and the hanger, then we can get what we need, and take care of who ever is left at our leisure."

"Seems like it could work, provided we can get in the bunker. ANd sealing the cliff faces... we will need to do that, but the nuking would work just as well."

"We can skip most of the assualt plans for now. We''ll form the plan once we are on the ground. Terrain, weather, enemy patrols etc. will dictate what we do."

"What's the timeframe we have to work with, sir?"

529 nodded in agreement.

"It would be better to infiltrate, via anything Intel might cook up for us, and get in to at least the Command Center. We can keep the hanger access open and seal off blast doors to rest of the base I should think. That would slow down their response. We have Armory, hanger, and even fuel cell access from there. Should make things a lot easier if we can take their CC nice and quiet."

529 leaned back.

"That and preventing distress calls. Though we may need to blow the control tower at the same time, just to be sure. Cap, any info on whether that observation tower, or any other locations in the base could send long range communications from? Wouldn't it be nice for the next Reb patrol to come along, expecting to find their base...and instead see a smoking crater?"

529 gave a crooked smile at this thought. He so loved to stick it to the Rebs in every possible way. He glanced once more at the map.

"Hell, looks like we'll even have access to their generators. Both of them. Maybe we don't need to worry about that tower after all, if we're quick." His smile grew ever more wolfish. He glanced over at his team leader with a grin.

"Just a thought, sir."

"The Observation tower's the tallest place in the base, and analysing
the video we've gotten from our alien friend, we've spotted several
short to medium range relays on the tower, nothing as powerful as
the main long range transmitter, but probably are just to keep in
track with local patrols, and of course, in an emergency, sending
a signal through them to a buoy in orbit, which would then relay it
to another buoy and so on..."

529 leaned back yet further, causing some to wonder if he'd make the chair tip over.

"Well, what about their power sources? Are those two generators it, or would the CT and OT have their own backup systems? Any intel on that, Cap?

"Not that I'd mind taking out more Rebs, of course, but it certainly makes things harder to coordinate the more targets we gotta blast without alerting the rest of the kriffin' base."

"Oh yes, before I forget, Here's the data for the engineer and alien you'll
be meeting in the Polok system.."

With that, schematics popped up on their datapads:

year vet of the Imperial Navy, and an EOD guy. Last I heard, he
loved to balance sabaac tables with live landmines."

"You could always use that toy we just got. The Merr-Sonn one, you
hook it up into a comp-relay circuit and it shorts out all the computer
systems mainlined into the circuit. Course, it'd be recognizably Imperial,
but you could solve that problem by rigging a thermal grenade to it
to trip 10 seconds after the charge was sent."

"Aye Cap, assuming they don't have some independent systems. What's Intel think?

"Aw, krif it, anyone else think it'd be easier to just blast the two towers and time it for when we hit the CC? And, of course, cutting power to the rest of the base after we seal it off. Should really slow down reinforcements, and hopefully prevent manual overrides."

"Scratch that, we don't need to get it to life support, this is a very
basic life support system, probably to keep them from freezing their
asses off or frying in the heat, we just need to locate the air intakes
for the base and bypass the anti-gas sensors somehow."

"And ensuring uniform distrubtion. Some of the aliens the Rebs employ may be immune to some of the gas. And we can't have unaffected areas having warning and getting to their own masks now can we?"

"I suggest we rig the comm towers with explosives first. That way we can blow them if we're spotted so they can't get a message out, but we don't tip them off with a big bang prematurely either."
