Are you INSANE? You're seriously telling me that a weapon 30 million times more powerful -- at the least -- of the bomb dropped on Hiroshima is only capable of scarring Rhode Island? Not to mention the fact that turbolasers, as described on Mr. Wong's site, actually bring all of their destructive force to the target, and unlike a nuclear weapon which sends its destructive energy out in all directions, of which only half can be counted as actually effecting the earth itself, a turbolaser apparently sends EVERY SINGLE BIT of its destructive force on its target?

For now, I'd just like to quote from Mr. Wong's commentaries about turbolasers:

Please note that the yield of the Hiroshima bomb was 20 kilotons, also note that 4 times 20 = 80. Therefore, a turbolaser bolt is approximately equal to 80 kilotons.
And if you're saying Star Trek torpedoes can reach up into the gigatons in yield.. Hm. Basic math tells me that the most powerful Federation torpedoes are about 50,000 more powerful than a turbolaser bolt. There's also the account of since torpedoes explode in all directions, only half of its explosive force would effect its target; equalling its damage done to a target to about 25,000 times more powerful than a turbolaser blast.
There you have it, folks. Irrefutable evidence.

Even if its the reported 64 megaton and 128 megaton, a torpedo would still be about 8000 times more powerful for the "normal" torpedo and 1600 times more powerful for quantum torpedoes, than Star Wars turbolasers.

Someone who is sincerely stupid deserves derision, insults, general mockery, and farting in his general direction, but not a ban IMHO. It's not his fault that he was born with less intelligence than normal people.

It's the people who are gratuitously abusive and/or trolling for the sake of disrupting useful conversation that have to be banned.

Besides, if I use my dark Sith powers too often, I may imbalance the Force.

In the end, we might not need to ban him at all, if we debate with him enough, he's guaranteed to run away crying!

But he hasn't run off crying, yet. And I already told him that he should get a new account name so no one will know it's him when he comes crawling back like a dog to its vomit. We've beaten him in EVERY debate, and I'm tired of his idiotic excuses and lackluster performance. IMHO, he should be banned.

Banning for outright trolling and flamming, ok.
but banning for stupidity? No. If he's an idiot (which he appears to be... we are talking below inanimate objects level here), then treat him as such. but ban him? No. It's the wrong way to use banning.

PS. User099 has been given the user ranking of "Village Idiot", which will now grace all of his posts. This is, of course, not the same as a ban. But I agree with LordChaos about the dangers of over-using bans, and the rank constitutes the BBS equivalent of non-lethal weaponry
