i have no idea why iggy deleted it. it was just a bunch nuns of wielding rifles.Darth Wong wrote:Well then what's the problem? Sacrilege is not only allowed here, but encouraged.

The first one was something resembling Michelangelo's "Creation of Man" except with God and Man pointing guns at eachother in the style of Reservoir Dogs. I get didn't see the others before IG went on his rampage and deleted them.Darth Wong wrote:What was this picture?
I spoke with him and he has indicated that he unapologetically intends to use his moderator power to eliminate what he refers to as "anti-Christian" imagery.Enlightenment wrote:Seems to me that if IG couldn't accept the first pic then he has no business being a mod here.
Or the Papal Bull of January 8, 1455, in which Catholics were urged to "invade, search out, capture, vanquish, and subdue" all pagans, and to "reduce their persons to perpetual slavery".Sea Skimmer wrote:That's it?Nuns with rifles, horrors. Need we count the number of militant monks and priests history has?
Dammit! meant musical number. One of these days I'll actually acquire some keyboard skills.Perinquus wrote:Sounds like IG88 needs to cultivate a sense of humor. Send him a coipy of the "Every Sperm is Sacred" mucial number from "Monty Python: The Meaning of Life", and a DVD of "Life of Brian".
Or maybe that's too blasphemous as well.
Or already angry at something else. That was my suspicion. Either way, if something like that will set someone off this job is not for them.Darth Wong wrote:Maybe he was sleep-deprived or something. I've just shown the pics to my mother, just to be sure. She just laughed. I can certainly imagine Christian bashing/hating images that cannot be allowed, but this was certainly not the case. Many humouristic programs on TV have scenes with nuns, priests and guns, and they're not banned.Darth Wong wrote:Maybe he was sleep-deprived or something. EDIT: I doubt that most Christians would freak out at that picture either.
It was hardly hate literature. If it depicted a bunch of nuns being tortured and encouraged more of the same, then it would be reasonable to delete it. Hate literature crosses the line and could actually get the board in legal trouble. But nuns with guns?Colonel Olrik wrote:I really don't know what he saw of sacrilegeous in those pics.
I'm a pretty moderate Christian (AKA backslider) and I'm not offended. Neither would most of my friends.Colonel Olrik wrote:It must have touched a nerve. I don't see moderate christians getting offended with images made to be sarcastic/fun. It's not sacrilege, not like a mortal offense. Only caricatures.

Why isn’t that ever an issue of politics? Because you don’t live in a democracy. You live in a plutocracy. Money rules.

Hm...I just looked around the 'net for a picture of a nude "Our Lady of Guadalupe"...but I couldn't find anything. It sounds intriguing...what the fuck is it?Spanky The Dolphin wrote:If you post that garbage, I'll kill you.verilon wrote:Right on!!
Now, let me see if I can find the pictures of nude Our Lady of Guadalupe...
Not because it's sacrilicious, but because it's not real art.
But the one above is pretty funny.
