Like many have said she's one of these people who when confronted that they were wrong, they must argue endlessly they were never wrong.

At this point, she should really be laughed at every place where it is possible within reason(let's not get banned for calling her a loon, because then you would be unable to keep calling her as such). I do love that she has nearly gone down the path of RSA in correlating nutty fans with fans who want a reasonable account because they DISAGREE with her.

What a twat. So now we're hurling death threats and the like or at least that what she's trying to insinuate. You know it occurs to me that she likes to hide behind her gender when the going gets tough but she certainly plays the part of hand wringing emotional drama queen quite well.

Note that Karen stated that she wanted to break people's trachea last time this came up. Nice of her to project her failings onto us.

Wow, I missed quite a bit while on break. What a twat. Instead of admitting an error, she'd rather twist the entire franchise around said error. And the reason why everyone is coming down on her is because Kauffman stepped out for the most part. I remember the original thread over at TFN when the daft bastard 3 million number came out, and after a while he eventually bowed out (iirc) while Karen kept doggedly adhering to it like a mindless zombie, and keeps it up to this very day no less. Yet then continously wonders why the fans give her flak for it. If she could pull her head out of her ass then and quit with the baseless accusations of sexism, maybe she'd see this. Sounds like I'll have to venture off SDN and back into the crap of the other boards later today.

The more I talk to her, the more it seems that it's not that simple, or, she's not that one-sided. I'm not sure, it seems like a very fractured problem here...

EDIT: Wow. I actually got a concession out of DM. Guess it helps to stand up, in a quiet tone, outside of his domain.

What do you figure it is then? You've probably had more contact with her than me, but i figure she just cant handle being wrong about anything.

Oh and BTW...i've never been on this 'LiveJournal' but does everyone have to be so overly nice all the time? Or is that like her private blog or whatever so you're nice or you're out?

EDIT: "Nice" i should say, its obvious people want to lay into each other but dont over there for some reason, its a false nice-ness thats kind of obvious. Especially with that DarkMoose guy; is he supposed to be important or like a mod somewhere cause i hear his name in this before?

I think the way I am "overtly" nice helps get at least more productive answers out of her.

It really seems like she likes to focus more on the smaller aspects of the CW, and doesn't necessarily exclude anything else (This was after I noted my position (mentioning the millions of divisions and such).)

Basically, she said LFL feedback was positive to what she was focusing her work on and that's it. Even giving some good quotes on the ridiculous position that individual authors can "influence editors" and "change overall continuity". Which is incidently what Hodge tried to imply about Saxton, so I thanked her for those excellent quotes.

She also seems to have a good working realtionship with the other authors in this debacle (Abel and Saxton, though she's never met the latter.)

I think being more laid back and not overtly hostile to someone's ideas or immidiately assume something about a person, could help in more debates like this. Unless dumb positions and ideas continue for years, unchanged, in that case, fuck it.

Yes, which is why she would refer to the Clone Wars as a "small scale" conflict.

I think she almost seems to treat it as "two, seperate realities" or points-of-view of the same thing. At least she's not knocking my view of it. 8)

I think I've gotten a bit wiser from dealing so much with McEwok and observing certain mannerisms (from some people here as well), that aren't sound, tactically speaking.

She's still being evasive and basically putting up a front like yours. "LFL approved so it's out of my hands" etc then why in the hell was the retcon even more retarded? It's like challenging a point, then she just says lets agree to disagree. Thing is she keeps on talking about it on multiple sites. She'll milk the controversy just to get better sales, she admits this is all just profession work to her, so money is #1 priority.

I'm not a confrontational person myself, but having seen the things that you have to put up with over at Wookieepedia, I can certainly understand that you've developed a more diplomatic flair (otherwise I don't think you would've lasted long).

The threads are rather confusing over there, it's somewhat difficult to keep track.

Part of my improvement in diplomacy, showed itself when I contacted several administrators on Wookiepedia privately, to discuss further changes to the Eclipse and Sovereign articles (Hodge having whined them back to Star Destroyer titles and me having found out about his harassment of several authors, which spurred me to act), and why it was more appropriate with Star Dreadnought for them (since they have been put in perspective with the Executor-class directly and were the biggest of the SSDs. The biggest of which in turn were the Star Dreadnoughts.)
By using sources and logic, I finally broke through and made them understand.

Now I just try to ignore him as much as possible, and if a situation arises, use as much logic and as many sources as available, releaving me from having to defend my views any further.

I try not to be confrontational. But if i get the impression someone is purposefully BSing me (and i still do in this case, think she's BSing) then i tend to get angry. I consider bullshitting and underhanded tactics like that to be an insult, while i'm over here (metaphorically) keeping everything on the level and they're screwing me under the table. I dont trying to be hostile, but i hate getting screwed (metaphorically! ).

And considering things she's said before, that others have posted, and things she's said to people from here who posted on the subject i dont buy her crap, she's acting nice cause its a comfy nonconfrontational environment; on other occasions she's practically called her critics stupid, saying their opinions were less important because they didnt have her 'background', which pissed me off incredibly. I was like, where does she get off trying to call the fans stupid? Who the fuck is she to call anyoen stupid, ms. "ONWARD! The brave 3-million!" That got under my skin, that she was trying to act like she was smarter or some bullshit. I hate elitist attitudes in anyone, i hate it even more when someone is demonstrably not better than me.

Anyway...listen to me i'm venting my bull here too. So time to shut this rant off.
