Most of it's kind of ho-hum, but it's all worth it to hear the reader say "LOL".

EDIT: Sweet, new page.
it was very amaturish by today's standards (basically using university autodial modems, and AT&T/Bell university unlimited phone accounts, to overwhelm a police phone line, and then proceeding to knockout the phone systems of Bejing),

The scariest folk song lyrics are "My Boy Grew up to be just like me" from cats in the cradle by Harry Chapin

If I have any complaint with the WWWWI title, it is probably related to scale. I don't think it warrants a "World Wide Web War" label until the late-night comedians use it as a setup for a "computer geeks can't get laid" joke.Zero132132 wrote:I actually like World Wide Web War I, personally. It amuses me. And yeah, that timeline, as well as perhaps the letters from various people, probably belong on that site.Braedley wrote:I hope it's kept, although I do agree with the reasons for having it's name changed. I think maybe "The YTMND/eBaumsWorld War of Jan. '06" or something similar would suffice. Also, that timeline I saw reposted here has to go in there.

Someone at the SA forums managed to get ahold of Eric Bauman over IM:
(boldery mine)

(boldery mine)
ebaum: And not to mention. There may be a small % of your animation that may be true. We try our hardest to give credit where it is due. You are giving us a bad name.
ALTF4: you delete everything on your site, and work from the bottom up with all new, all original content, and I will forward the domain to your website.
ebaum: It is very easy for us to put a link up giving credit to the original author. You will find it all over our site.
ALTF4: Oh cry me a river.
ALTF4: You've only started credit since I called you out on it
ALTF4: We both know that your buisness model is based around thievery
ebaum: That comment has no merit.
ALTF4: Your website has no merit.

ebaum: Surely if I am such a scam artist you could give me some proof and back up your statements. Wouldn't you think?
ALTF4911: How about those flashes from weebl-stuff that you posted and he always talks about?
ALTF4911: http://www.ebaumsworldsucks.com/ebw.html
ALTF4911: how about that?
ebaum: Hold on 1 second please.
ALTF4911: oh yeah you link to his site with a little text link now huh?
ALTF4911: Ever since my flash popped up suddenly eBaum is some just misunderstood guy trying to make a living
ebaum: I give him credit on all his work we feature.
ALTF4911: Yeah, but he doesn't want his work on your website
ebaum: In fact, me and weebl have spoken about working on a project together.
ALTF4911: What would you do? There is no stealing involved in making a flash, not that you would know.

I was having some fun with Photoshop last night, and I came up with this:

It's nowhere near small enough to be used as an avatar here, but I figured I'd show you all.

Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes you can do these things... their number is negligible and they are stupid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower

Woohoo! Thanks, Bounty.
Also, there's been some drama unfolding at the SA forums regarding the site www.ebaumsworldsucks.com which is a really fun flash video insulting ebaum. I'm too lazy to do an FW style report, but, um, maybe someone else wants to?

We may never know.

Shouldn't the yiddish cup have hebrew script on it?

It's shiny, and that's all that matters.

Pretty well. Due to a big "fucking behave yourselves or the autolocking doors and halon gas fire supression system will be used" e-mail from station legal and management, it was a bit more subdued than we would have liked.
Due to job interviews it won't be until next week that I can get into the studio to edit the minidisc recording we made. But when I do, I'll find somewhere to host the mp3.

Well that sucks. (About management being dicks, that is.) I can host the recording for you if you need.
