She actually might not object to a alt mode change. She named her car after him you know :!:

What I particularly like about her opinion of Soundwave is how she calls his loyalty unwavering. Yeah, right. His loyalty was reeeeeal unwavering when he voted to toss Megatron out of Astrotrain

I think Cyclonus was more loyal to Galvatron than Soundwave was to Megatron.

On the plus side, Raksha would ensure that we'd find about the Decepticon side of the story. You know, their unwavering loyalty to each other, Megatron's love for Nightbird, how the Autobots are secretly all ruthless and evil, and how the Decepticons are morally correct for trying to enslave Earth and it's population.

What really happened in the shuttle, according to her.

Honestly, she doesn't scare me as much as Nightwind. There's outright crazy and then there is subtle crazy.

Ah those two.

Raksha's essays never fail to crack me up...I mean to gloss over hiow Megatron or Galvatron rant about how they will take over the Earth/Galaxy/Universe for their personal benefit is somehow them uprising against the evel!!!! Autobot rule makes one wonder what show or comic were they looking at.

Nightwind I've seen less off but she's nuttier in a different aspect of just trying to breakdown why do female transfans dig the bad boys of the Cybertronian wars.

Raksha is just out there pure revisionist.

She doesn't gloss over the fact that the Decepticons are extremely destructive of human society, she embraces it.

Why a Decepticon invasion of earth, even with its concomitant destruction, would in fact be a good thing

LOL Those essays are gold! I want pass off fanfiction as analysis, can I can I?? :)

Speaking of poorly coloured Skorponok, what about gay-pride Armada Cyclonus?

In G1, what was Skorponok like? We all know in the comics Furman injected him with a lot of pathos and made him quite a symathetic character, but I've never seen the post-movie lameness - er, series. Is he a green Megatron or what?

On the mass-displacement shindig, I guess it *IS* undeniable that Transformers pull their weapons literally out of their asses. I think what the movie dudes are saying is that they don't nessecarily want excessive stuff that people will actually notice; for instance, most people don't know how big fighters really are, so won't be surprised that Prime is bigger than Starscream. But we all know that Lugers aren't 30ft tall :)

Another example - combiners. Each part gets much much larger when they Transform into their combiner form; the Connies are about waist high to Prime IIRC, but Devastator can pick him up with one hand... a Magical Hand, that comes from Nowhere.... :)

Well, that certainly explains why he always hung out with Demolisher..

Scorponok only appeared in episodes two and three of The Rebirth trilogy, the "fourth season" series finale, as the leader of the Headmaster Decepticons from Nebulos. I personally haven't seen it yet, so I have no idea what he was like, though he probably wasn't able to do a lot because of his limited screen time.

Scorponok was just a massive battle robot created for Zarak. I think he has one line.

IIRC, cartoon Scorponok was built from scratch on Nebulos and had no personality independent from Lord Zarak's. Zarak himself was a typical 80s villain and nothing like his namesake from the comics.

I see. The first place I went to was Seibertron.com, and their databank information for Scorponok that wasn't from the tech specs was mostly for Headmasters...

Don Murphy updates about the movie.
Don Murphy wrote:Many things to answer here on the fly.

There's a shitload of rumors that you guys take as facts out there. There are NO voice actors yet. There may be soon. I will personally make sure that our director considers Frank and the gang. I think celebrity voices for a film like this is moronic.

Someone out there is telling you that there aill no be toys for this movie from Hasbro? Dream on. That's the very reason they WANT a film from Steven Spielberg.

NOTHING is decided. IN MY OPINION knowing how Hollywood works---

1- I do not see mass shifting happening.
2- I do not see a giant robot turning into a cassette player.
3- Hasbro will not have a toy that turns into a pistol.
4- I just saw the robots in SKY CAPTAIN at Comic-Con- we want ours to be the opposite of those. Personalities!

We are NOT doing anything to do with Beasts and Dinos and shit.

I think Soundwave is the burger with cheese and sauce. I think his "tapes" are badass.

Maybe you're right- maybe he never changes.

Dunno.

Hasbro will not have a toy that turns into a pistol.
Damn PC-ness.

I remain optimistic about this, though Soundwave was a favourite bad-guy. I'll miss his becoming a tiny tape player.

Only seven core members?

I mean for the Deceps...that'll likely be

Megatron, Soundwave, Starscream, Thundercracker, Skywarp, and what two tapes(likely Laserbeak and Rumble)?

For the Autobots:

Optimus, and then what...I mean Bumblebee, Ironhide, Ratchet and Jazz were the only ones given significant thought. I suppose you can squeeze Hound and a couple others but it loses something to have such a small core for both sides.

Well, while the seven on each side may be the only ones with sizable roles, I'm sure we'll still have good cameos. I'm hoping the movie opens on Cybertron, in the middle of a massive battle, with maybe Devastator and Omega Supreme duking it out in the background.

I'm assuming by "core" they mean primary characters that'd be pretty much set in stone, but still leaving room for supporting and secondary characters.

I just hope that eventually the possible alteration of Soundwave is dropped due to fan outcry. It's entirely possible that they'd make a bigger stink over Soundwave than Megatron being changed, considering he's such a fan favourite.

Yeah that's what I'm hoping for.

Seeing Devastator and Omega would be cool...also seeing some other flying overhead. I wan the impression there is a war...something I rarely got from comics due to small troop armies on both sides.

Well I just hope to god they get Michael Bell at least for a voice actor.

And if Hasbro wont let them make Megatron a pistol, why not a "space rifle" or something? Thats how they can get away with Shockwave, why not extend Megatron's stock and barell, add some display readouts to make him look "futuristic" and there you go

Megatron being turned into a tank has nothing to do with political correctness. It has to do with the fact that he has to grab size changing technology out of his ass to do it. They don't want to have to bring in too many exotic technologies for the audience to deal with, and I agree with their decision.
